Product description

Glass bottle, dropper bottle, silver glossy dropper, 15 ml

Brown glass and dropper in one complete set, ready for filling small doses of facial serums, oil blends and tinctures. Dark glass reduces light that accelerates the degradation of oils and the breakdown of sensitive active ingredients. The dropper dispenses contents drop by drop without spilling. The nominal volume of 15 ml is sufficient for a trial batch, travel packaging or a concentrated product used in small amounts.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The corresponding declaration is included with the product.

How the set works

The bottle has the shape of a dropper bottle with a narrow neck and an 18/410 thread. The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a cap with a shiny silver aluminium sleeve that seals against the neck when tightened. The tube reaches almost to the bottom, so the last of the contents can be drawn up without tilting the bottle.

Pressing the bulb draws a small dose into the tube, which can be precisely repeated. The contents do not come into contact with hands.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial and hair serums – water-based and oil-based, where dosing by drops is expected.
  • Oil blends for the face and cuticles – the small volume is used up before the oil has time to go rancid.
  • Diluted essential oils and fragrance concentrates – glass does not react with the contents and does not absorb odour.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – for longer storage we recommend verifying the dropper's behaviour with the specific formulation.
  • Samples and test batches – small volume for formula development or distributing samples to customers.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for during normal filling. Total brim volume is the physical volume up to the neck and can be found in the specifications. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper tube, which takes up part of the space when closed, and for the expansion of contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents would overflow through the neck after inserting the dropper and contaminate the thread.

When filling thicker serums, leave the level a few millimetres below the neck and insert the dropper slowly so that the air in the tube has time to be expelled.

Good to know

Before the first fill, wash both the bottle and the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would dilute anhydrous preparations and increases the risk of microbial contamination in aqueous formulations.

Glass tolerates hot water and alcohol disinfection, but not sudden temperature changes. Do not place a hot bottle on a cold surface and do not fill it with a boiling phase. Let it cool down to at least a temperature at which it can be held in the hand.

The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the contents, disassemble the dropper, rinse the tube and bulb and leave to dry, so that residues from the previous formulation do not transfer to the new one.

Caps with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations of this bottle with a closure can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend checking the seal with the specific formulation.

Brown glass reduces light, it does not block it completely. Products with sensitive active ingredients should be stored out of direct sunlight, even in this packaging.

After emptying and rinsing, the bottle belongs in the glass recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Does a brown glass dropper bottle 15 ml protect the contents from light?
Yes, brown glass absorbs a large part of the light that accelerates the oxidation of oils and the breakdown of vitamins and plant extracts. The protection is not complete, so brown bottles with sensitive contents are also stored out of direct sunlight. For serums and oil blends, dark glass is more suitable than clear.
How much does a 15 ml dropper bottle actually hold?
It is filled to the nominal volume of 15 ml. The physical brim volume is larger and is stated in the specifications. The difference serves as a reserve for the dropper tube, which takes up part of the space when closed, and for the expansion of contents with temperature changes. If filled to the brim, the contents would overflow through the neck.
Is the dropper suitable for oil serums and water-based tonics?
Yes, the dropper dispenses both water-based and oil-based formulations. With thicker oils, a smaller amount is drawn up and the drops fall more slowly; with water-based preparations, the dose is larger and faster. Water-based products need to be preserved, as the dropper tube comes into contact with skin and air with each use.
Can the dropper bottle be cleaned and reused?
Yes, the set is designed for repeated use. Wash the bottle with hot water and washing-up liquid, disassemble the dropper, rinse the tube and bulb, and leave everything to dry. Before refilling, disinfect the glass and the tube with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. When changing the type of contents, for example from essential oils to a serum, we recommend replacing the dropper to avoid transferring the scent.
Can a tincture or alcohol extract be filled into the 15 ml dropper bottle?
Yes, the glass of the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper tolerate alcohol without material changes. For long-term storage of high-percentage alcohol or undiluted essential oils, we recommend verifying the dropper's behaviour with the specific formulation in advance. For shorter storage and common tinctures, the set is suitable.
What cap fits this bottle if I don't want a dropper?
The bottle has a neck with an 18/410 thread, so caps with the same neck type from the Handymade range fit it. Ready-made combinations of this bottle with a different closure have their own description. For a custom combination, we recommend testing the seal with the specific formulation, especially with oils and alcohol-based contents.
