Product description
Glass bottle, dropper bottle, black-gold dropper cap, 15 ml
The brown glass dropper bottle is a ready-made complete packaging and closure set for drop-by-drop dispensing of liquid preparations where precise dosing and light protection matter. It is particularly suitable for facial serums, oil blends and active ingredient concentrates in small packaging with a nominal volume of 15 ml.
Amber glass dampens light transmission and slows down the changes that light induces in sensitive ingredients, such as plant oils, vitamins or essential oils. The dropper is matched to the bottle neck, so there is no need to remove or test-fit the cap. The black-gold finish gives the small package an appearance that holds up even in retail of finished products.
Key benefits
- Light protection – amber glass limits light exposure to the contents, which is important for oils, serums and preparations with active ingredients that lose efficacy in light or change colour and scent.
- Precise dosing – the dropper allows measuring out a few drops without spilling and without finger contact with the contents, reducing the risk of contamination.
- Matched set – the bottle and dropper share the same neck type, so the cap fits and seals without trial and error.
- Small volume for concentrates – the 15 ml volume is suitable for more expensive ingredients and preparations that are dispensed drop by drop and should be used within a reasonable time.
- Glass as a neutral material – glass does not react with common cosmetic ingredients and does not absorb scents or dyes, making it suitable for repeated use.
Suitable for products such as
- facial and hair serums with water-based or oil-based formulas, dispensed drop by drop,
- oil blends and elixirs for the face, beard, cuticles or hair ends,
- active ingredient concentrates and raw material samples that need to be protected from light,
- essential oil blends for further dilution, if the specific blend and dropper materials can tolerate it,
- trial and travel sizes of finished preparations in small volumes.
The set is not suitable for thick creams, balms or preparations containing particles. The dropper is designed for liquid contents that can be drawn up and dispensed drop by drop.
Nominal and total volume
When filling, it is useful to distinguish two terms. Nominal volume is the quantity the packaging is designed for at normal fill level, and this is the figure that goes on the label. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is the allowance for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces some of the contents when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
If you fill the bottle to the neck, once the dropper is inserted the contents will overflow or get into the thread, where it sticks and makes opening difficult. Fill to the nominal volume and tighten the dropper by hand, without force.
How to work with the set
The dropper consists of a glass tube that is in contact with the contents, a silicone bulb for drawing up liquid, and a threaded collar. When dispensing, squeeze the bulb, submerge the tube into the contents and release to draw the liquid up. When dispensing drops, hold the dropper vertically — the drops will then be even and the dosing repeatable.
The contents should not reach the bulb. If this happens, rinse the dropper after use — otherwise the residue in the bulb will degrade over time and may contaminate subsequent doses. Store the bottle upright and closed; if laid on its side, the contents can seep into the thread.
Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper, disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil serum shortens its shelf life and has no place in anhydrous preparations.
Good to know
- Suitability for cosmetics – both the bottle and dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.
- Not for food – the set is not approved for contact with food. It is intended for cosmetic and technical use, not for household oils, syrups or infusions intended for consumption.
- Dropper materials – the glass tube comes into contact with the contents; the remaining parts are made of plastic, aluminium and silicone. For blends with a high proportion of essential oils or with solvents, we recommend checking after a few weeks whether the bulb is softening and the dropper still seals.
- Glass and heat – fill with contents that have already cooled. Hot liquid in cold glass can crack the bottle and increases pressure when the dropper is fitted.
- Labelling – the straight body of the dropper bottle makes label application easier.
- Reuse – the glass bottle can be washed and used again; the dropper is more delicate and it is better to replace it with a new one when changing the contents.
- Recycling – the bottle goes into glass recycling; the dropper is made of multiple materials and should be separated from the bottle before disposal.
Other closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dosing performance with the specific formulation.
