Glass bottle with dropper for serums, oils and concentrates
Glass bottle, amber dropper bottle with a matte black dropper is a ready-to-use set for everything dosed by drops and needing protection from light: facial and oil serums, blends of carrier and essential oils, oil concentrates, tinctures or cuticle and beard oils. Amber glass reduces light exposure and helps maintain stability of oxidation-sensitive substances such as unsaturated oils, vitamins or essential oils. The matte, non-glossy surface of the dropper pairs well with dark glass as well as black or gold labels.
The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the dropper does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products, not for filling food.
How the set works
- Precise dosing – the dropper with glass pipette and flexible bulb draws up a small amount of content that can be applied drop by drop to the palm or directly to the skin. Ideal for serums and oil concentrates where small doses matter.
- Content protection – amber glass restricts light exposure and glass does not react with oils, alcohol or common active ingredients, so the packaging does not alter the scent or properties of the content.
- Hygienic dispensing – content is dispensed without fingers touching the inside of the bottle. With low-preservative cosmetics, this reduces the risk of contamination.
- Ready-made combination – the bottle and dropper share the same neck type and the dropper length is matched to this bottle. No testing or combining required.
Practical use
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed for normal filling. Total capacity to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is the reserve for the submerged dropper tube and for expansion of the content with temperature changes. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the content will overflow when the dropper is screwed on. Both values are listed in the parameters.
Before first filling, wash both the bottle and dropper, rinse with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water shortens the stability of oil serums and is undesirable in anhydrous products.
With aqueous contents (tonics, water-based serums with hyaluronic acid) keep in mind that air enters the bottle each time it is opened. The formulation should therefore be properly preserved. With oil and alcohol-based contents, both the glass and the glass pipette of the dropper perform without issues. We recommend verifying the bulb's behaviour with highly concentrated essential oils or solvents on a single unit before a larger batch.
The dropper is hand-tightened after screwing on. Before shipping or selling, verify tightness in a tilted position with the specific formulation, particularly with very fluid oils that more easily wick into the thread.
For which products it is suitable
- Facial serums – both water-based and oil-based, where a few drops are dispensed per application.
- Oil blends and elixirs – blends of carrier oils with essential oils for face, hair or beard. Amber glass protects unsaturated oils from light.
- Cuticle oils and liquid balms – small volume and precise dosing.
- Tinctures and concentrates – alcohol-based extracts or diluted concentrates of active substances for cosmetic use.
For thicker products (gel serums with higher viscosity, emulsions) the dropper is not suitable. The content is difficult to draw up and does not return from the bulb. In that case, a pump or another closure with the same neck type is a better choice.
Good to know
The bottle is reusable. After emptying, it is washed with warm water and detergent, rinsed with alcohol and refilled. The dropper disassembles into the bulb, collar and glass tube, which makes cleaning easier. When changing the formulation or if the bulb has yellowed, it is better to replace the dropper.
Glass is sensitive to sudden temperature changes. Do not fill the bottle with a hot phase directly after heating and do not move it from cold to hot water. Pour the content when cooled to room temperature or slightly above.
The dropper does not have a child safety lock and is not designed as a tight transport closure. When sending filled bottles to customers, protect the bulb from compression and transport the bottle in an upright position.
The cylindrical shape of the bottle allows a label to be applied around the full circumference. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made container and closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying tightness, dosing and container behaviour with the specific formulation.
The glass bottle is sorted as glass after use. The dropper is made of multiple materials, so it is unscrewed and disposed of separately before recycling.
