Amber Glass Bottle, Matte Black Dropper, 30 ml

A set for dispensing by the drop: an amber glass medicine bottle with a volume of 30 ml and a matte black dropper with an 18/410 neck finish, supplied as a ready-made pair. Amber glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, so the set is used mainly for facial serums, oil blends, diluted essential oils and tinctures, that is, for products with sensitive ingredients that are dispensed in small amounts. The narrow neck of the bottle makes it easier to draw up precise amounts without needlessly exposing the contents to air.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle on its own also has a certificate for direct food contact, but the dropper does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. You will find the declaration of conformity for both components with the product.

What it is suitable for

The 30 ml volume corresponds to the usual size of a facial serum, oil serum or hair and nail drops. The set is also used for herbal tinctures and alcohol extracts, essential oils diluted in a carrier oil, and water-based serums with hyaluronic acid or vitamins. With thicker gel serums, check that the drops are released smoothly from the dropper.

Glass does not react with common cosmetic raw materials or with ethanol, so the bottle is also suitable for alcohol-based products that plastic packaging may not cope with.

How to work with the set

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would dilute the contents and, in anhydrous products, may cause cloudiness.

Fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between them provides a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes the liquid level up once screwed in, and for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes.

Tighten the dropper by hand, without force. Squeeze the silicone bulb only after the tube has been immersed in the contents, otherwise air is forced into the bottle and the liquid foams.

Good to know

Do not pour a hot mixture straight from the hob into the bottle. A sudden change of temperature may damage the glass, and the dropper with the bulb is fitted only once the contents have cooled down.

The glass tube is in contact with the contents, while the bulb and the inside of the cap come into contact with vapours. With undiluted essential oils, strong solvents and products with a high proportion of alcohol, check how the bulb and the cap seal behave in the finished formulation. Also check for leaks during transport, especially if you use the set for watery toners, which easily run out through the tube when the bottle is tilted.

The bottle is reusable. Once empty, wash it in warm water with washing-up liquid, degrease it with ethanol and leave it to dry upside down. Take the dropper apart, rinse the tube and leave the bulb to dry separately. For recycling, the glass bottle belongs with glass, while the dropper, as a combined product made of plastic, glass and silicone, is sorted separately from the bottle.
