A brown glass vial with a black sprayer and smoke cap is a complete set for spraying cosmetics that need to be protected from light. The nominal volume of 50 ml and brown glass make this set a practical packaging for facial tonics, hydrolate mists, hair and body sprays, perfume waters or sprays with essential oils, whose stability is impaired by light.

The sprayer releases the contents as a fine mist in small doses. It is therefore suitable for products that are applied directly to the skin or hair without rubbing in by hand. The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the packaging is intended under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a margin for the sprayer tube, which displaces some content when screwed on, and for the expansion of liquid with temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, when the sprayer is attached, the contents will be pushed out through the neck.

• Facial tonics and hydrolate mists – water-based products with low viscosity spray most evenly.
• Perfume waters and alcohol sprays – glass is resistant to ethanol and fragrance components are protected from light in brown glass.

• Body and hand sprays – alcohol-based refreshing sprays, soothing after-sun sprays.
• Dry oil sprays – only light oils with low viscosity; thicker oils cannot be dispersed into a mist by the sprayer.

Practical use

Before first use, wash the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it empty several times to remove any residue from the tube.

Glass is heavier than plastic and may break if dropped. The set is therefore not suitable for use in the shower or by children without supervision. Do not fill the bottle with hot liquid; a sudden change in temperature may damage the glass. The sprayer is made of polypropylene, which handles standard water-based and alcohol-based products well. At higher concentrations of essential oils, solvents or with oily contents, we recommend testing the seal and the behaviour of the mechanism with the specific formulation in advance.
