Product description

Glass bottle, vial, brown, with black-gold pump dispenser, 50 ml

The brown glass vial with dispenser is a ready-made set for facial serums, oils and light emulsions that need protection from light and are applied in small amounts. The brown glass reduces light penetration, helping to protect contents sensitive to oxidation. The dispenser in a black-gold glossy finish with a transparent cap releases a small, even dose with each press, making the set suitable for products applied in a thin layer that should stay clean for as long as possible.

The set is intended for cosmetics. Both the bottle and the dispenser are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the set as a whole is not intended for food use.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – brown glass transmits less light than clear glass, slowing the degradation of vegetable oils, vitamins and other sensitive ingredients.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the dispenser releases a small amount with each press and the contents never touch the hands.
  • Precise application – a small dose suits concentrated serums and oils, where just a few presses cover the entire face.
  • Glass without odour or interactions – glass does not absorb fragrances or colorants and does not react with essential oils, making it suitable for perfumed and oil-based products.
  • Clean appearance – the combination of dark glass, a glossy black-gold dispenser and a transparent cap creates a unified look suitable for both gift and retail packaging.

What products is this set suited for

It works best with leave-on products of low to medium viscosity that are dispensed in small amounts:

  • facial and hair serums on both water and oil bases,
  • facial and body oils, oil blends with essential oils,
  • light emulsions and fluids for the face, eye area and décolleté,
  • liquid concentrates of active ingredients that the customer adds to their cream.

The dispenser is not suitable for thick creams and butters – the product would be difficult to draw through the tube and the dose would be uneven. It is also not suitable for products with solid particles (scrubs, suspensions) that can clog the mechanism.

Before filling a larger batch, test the dispenser with the specific formulation. Very thin oils may drip slightly after pressing, while thick serums may need more presses to prime the dispenser. A simple test on one unit will show whether the viscosity needs adjusting.

Nominal and total volume – why they differ

Nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. Total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and dispenser, which take up some space once screwed in, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature change. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will be pushed out when fitting the dispenser. Both volumes are listed in the specifications.

What to know before filling

Packaging preparation. Before first use, wash the bottle, rinse it and allow it to dry completely. The interior should be disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Pump the dispenser several times with disinfectant solution and then with clean water so that no residue remains in the tube.

Dispenser tube. The tube should reach the bottom of the bottle so that the dispenser draws the last doses as well. If it extends past the bottom and bends, trim it with a sharp knife using a straight cut.

First presses. A new dispenser needs several presses before the tube fills and dispensing begins. When selling, it is advisable to inform the customer of this on the label or in the instructions.

Transparent cap. The cap protects the dispenser nozzle from dust and accidental pressing during transport. When shipping packages, we recommend packing the bottles so that no pressure is applied to the cap.

Reuse. The glass bottle can be refilled after thorough cleaning and disinfection. The dispenser is harder to clean after oily and perfumed contents; when changing the product it is sensible to replace it with a new one.

Label. The cylindrical shape of the vial allows a standard wrap-around label to be used. Dimensions for its design can be found in the specifications.

Recycling. The bottle goes in glass waste. The dispenser combines plastic with an aluminium sleeve, so it should be unscrewed from the bottle before disposal and discarded separately.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Allow hot contents to cool before filling and do not place the bottle directly from cold into warm water, as it may crack.

Frequently asked questions

Is the brown glass vial with dispenser suitable for facial oil?
Yes, the brown vial with dispenser is a suitable choice for facial and body oils. Dark glass reduces light, which accelerates yellowing of vegetable oils, and glass does not absorb fragrances or colorants. The dispenser releases a small amount that spreads easily across the face. With very thin oils, we recommend checking whether the dose drips after pressing.
Can the vial + dispenser set be used for food products?
No, the set as a whole is not declared for food contact. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the plastic dispenser does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products – serums, oils, emulsions and similar preparations.
Why is the 50 ml vial filled only to the nominal volume and not to the brim?
Because part of the space inside the bottle is taken up by the tube and dispenser, and the contents need a reserve for expansion with temperature change. The nominal volume is the amount intended for normal filling; the total brimful volume is larger. If you fill the bottle to the neck, the contents will be pushed out when fitting the dispenser.
Does the dispenser work with thick serum or cream too?
This type of dispenser is not suitable for creams and thick serums. The tube draws the contents from the bottom of the bottle, and thick product moves through it slowly or not at all, resulting in an uneven dose. The dispenser is designed for contents with low to medium viscosity – serums, oils, fluids and light emulsions.
Can a different closure be used with the 50 ml brown vial?
Yes, the vial has a standard neck and other closures with the same neck type can be used – droppers, sprayers or caps. The neck type is listed in the bottle specifications, and ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and behaviour of the closure with the specific formulation.
