What the set is suitable for

A volume of 100 ml corresponds to standard packaging for a facial or massage oil, an oil-based hair serum, a herbal tincture, tonic or liquid makeup remover. The set makes sense wherever the customer pours the contents into their palm or decants it and precise dosing is not required. For products that need to be dosed drop by drop or sprayed, it is better to opt for a dropper or spray with the same neck type.

Thanks to the dark glass, the set is also a good choice for preparations without synthetic antioxidants, where light protection forms an important part of stability. For water-based products (tonics, hydrolats), keep in mind that the packaging itself does not replace preservation – the water phase must have its own preservation system.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended at standard filling and which is stated on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them forms headspace for the closure and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, which is why filling is done to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Filling right up to the neck may cause the contents to be pushed out when closing or the cap to fail to seal properly. Exact values for both volumes can be found in the product parameters.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing bottles and caps with warm water and a neutral cleaning agent before use, rinsing, disinfecting with izopropylalkohol or etanol and leaving them to dry completely neck-down. Residual water in an oil-based product promotes microbial growth and compromises stability.

The cap and its material. The closure is made of polypropylene with a sealing insert made of foam polyethylene. For concentrated essential oils and alcoholic tinctures, we recommend testing the behaviour of the insert with the specific formulation over a longer period – the glass itself is resistant to them.

Glass and heat. The bottle withstands standard filling temperatures, but is not designed for sudden temperature changes. Pouring hot contents into cold glass or the reverse can damage the glass.

Labelling. The straight cylindrical shape is easy to label. Label dimensions for design purposes are listed in the product parameters.
