Amber glass medicine bottle, matte, safety dropper, 30 ml

This matte amber glass bottle with a capacity of 30 ml and a black safety dropper is intended for serums, oil blends and alcohol extracts that are applied drop by drop. Amber glass lets through less light than clear glass, so light-sensitive preparations, such as serums with vitamin C or oils prone to oxidation, are better protected in this packaging.

The set is supplied with the bottle and the dropper together, so there is no need to look for a closure that fits the neck. The length of the dropper is matched to the height of the bottle, so the contents can be drawn even when the level is low. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product.

Suitable uses

• Facial serums and active ingredient concentrates – dispensing drop by drop allows you to measure a small amount precisely, and the 30 ml volume corresponds to the usual size of a serum.
• Face and hair oils – blends of vegetable oils are applied from the dropper without spilling, and amber glass slows the effect of light on the oil.
• Essential oil blends – the set is used for aromatic blends diluted in a carrier oil.
• Alcohol extracts for the skin – glass does not react with alcohol, and the dropper makes it easier to dose into skin preparations.
• Samples and trial batches – the small volume is suitable for testing a formulation before making a larger quantity.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume, given in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper, which pushes part of the contents upwards when it is screwed in, and for the expansion of the filling when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill only to the nominal volume, never to the brim.

Preparation and filling

Before first use, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the glass tube of the dropper would get into an anhydrous product and could cause cloudiness or a microbial risk.

The filling should be poured into the bottle once it has cooled down; a funnel or a syringe works well for the small neck. With serums of higher viscosity, expect slower dripping.

The dropper combines glass, plastic and silicone. With undiluted essential oils and solvents, the plastic and silicone parts may change over time, so check the dropper regularly with such contents and replace it if necessary. The glass bottle itself tolerates these substances without any problem.

After washing and disinfection, the bottle can be used repeatedly. With the dropper, check that the bulb still draws liquid in. The glass belongs in glass recycling; the dropper is made of several materials, so its glass tube and plastic closure are separated before recycling.

The set is intended for cosmetic products. Neither the bottle nor the dropper has a food-contact certificate, so this set should not be used for homemade oils or syrups.
