FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this glass bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, the integrity of the thread and the internal parts of the cap checked, and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based product. For disinfection we recommend, for example, isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured. Only after this procedure is the bottle ready for safe reuse.

How should I properly clean the glass bottle before refilling?

First remove any residues of the original contents and rinse the packaging with a suitable detergent in warm water. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water so that no traces of the cleaning agent remain. After drying, the inner surface and the thread of the packaging must be disinfected with alcohol (e.g. IPA 99 % or Ethanol 96 % denatured) and left to air until the alcohol has completely evaporated. Only then is the packaging ready for new filling.

How should I correctly store the bottle and cap so that they retain their quality?

We recommend storing both empty and filled bottles in a dry, clean and well-ventilated environment without direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Glass is resistant, but sudden temperature shocks can negatively affect its integrity. Protect the aluminium cap from mechanical damage and contamination in the thread so that tightness after closing is maintained. For longer-term storage, it is advisable to check the packaging again before use and, if necessary, clean and disinfect it.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and the information given in the parameter table for the product on Handymade.sk. The glass bottle can usually be placed in the separated glass collection after being emptied and basically rinsed. The aluminium cap should be sorted into metal waste if the collection system in your area allows it. Before placing it in the appropriate container, remove any product residues so that no larger amount of contents remains in the packaging.
