Product description

Amber glass medicine bottle, matte, white and gold fine mist sprayer, 30 ml

A set consisting of a matte amber glass medicine bottle with a volume of 30 ml and a plastic fine mist sprayer in a glossy white and gold finish is designed for liquid cosmetic products that are applied to the skin or hair as a fine mist. Amber glass filters light and helps protect contents that are sensitive to UV radiation, while the matte surface gives the bottle a uniform, non-glossy appearance. The sprayer dispenses a small amount per press, so it suits products where even and economical application matters.

The 30 ml volume suits hydrosols, facial mists, toners, make-up setting sprays, refreshing hair sprays and small test batches of perfumed waters. The whole set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is not suitable for homemade oils, syrups or herbal infusions intended for consumption.

What the set is suitable for

  • Hydrosols and facial mists – thin water-based products pass through the sprayer without problems, and the dark glass slows their degradation caused by light.
  • Toners and essences – spray application covers the face evenly, without cotton pads and waste.
  • Setting and refreshing sprays – a small dose per press suits products that are applied repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Hair sprays and spray conditioners – for thin water-based or alcohol-based formulations. Test thicker emulsions first.
  • Samples and travel packs – 30 ml is enough for trying out a new recipe or for packing into hand luggage.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the sprayer dip tube, for the air gap above the liquid and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume. If you fill it to the neck, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is fitted, and the dip tube will push the liquid out.

The sprayer dip tube is longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom without touching it. The angled end draws up the contents down to the last dose.

The sprayer dispenses approximately 0.14 ml per press and is intended for water-based and alcohol-based liquids. Thicker products, solutions with a high proportion of glycerine, emulsions and oils may spurt in a stream instead of a mist or clog the nozzle. We recommend checking how your particular formulation behaves in the sprayer on a small sample before filling a larger quantity.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water or alcohol, press it several times without any liquid and leave it to dry. Residual water in the dip tube would dilute the first doses of the product and, in anhydrous formulations, may also cause cloudiness.

The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the contents, take the sprayer apart, rinse the dip tube and the nozzle and remove any residue of the previous product. Drying residues containing sugars or thickeners clog the nozzle more often than water-based solutions.

Do not expose the glass to sudden changes in temperature. Do not pour hot liquid into a cold bottle, and do not place a filled bottle on a hot surface. Let the product cool to room temperature before filling.

The sprayer body is made of polypropylene and the collar of aluminium. For alcohol-based products with a higher content of essential oils, or for perfume compositions, check whether the sprayer material changes its appearance over time and whether it transfers any odour. Amber glass slows the effect of light, but it does not replace a preservative system in water-based products. The bottle has the same neck type as other closures in our range, where you will also find ready-made combinations.

Once empty and washed, the bottle is sorted as glass. The sprayer consists of several materials and belongs with plastics. Remove the aluminium collar before disposal if your local collection system allows it.

Frequently asked questions

Does a matte amber bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, amber glass absorbs part of the UV radiation and slows the degradation of light-sensitive contents. It is therefore more suitable than clear packaging for hydrosols and for products containing vitamins or essential oils. However, protection from light does not replace a preservative or an antioxidant, and the contents still need to be formulated with microbial and oxidative stability in mind.
How much liquid can be filled into the bottle?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 30 ml. The physical volume up to the neck is higher, but this difference serves as a reserve for the sprayer dip tube and the air above the liquid. If you fill it to the neck, the contents overflow when the sprayer is fitted and the dip tube cannot draw up the liquid properly.
Is the sprayer suitable for an oil serum?
Only to a limited extent. A sprayer with a dose of around 0.14 ml is designed for thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids. Light oils may pass through, but they often come out in a stream instead of a mist and the nozzle clogs faster. For oil serums, we recommend combining the bottle with a dropper instead, or testing the spray on a small amount first.
Can I fill this bottle with homemade oil or syrup?
No, the set is not approved for contact with food. Suitability for contact with cosmetics is declared for both the bottle and the sprayer, but food use is not documented for either component. For homemade oils, syrups and infusions intended for consumption, choose packaging with a food-contact certificate.
Is the sprayer suitable for alcohol-based perfumed waters?
Yes, a polypropylene sprayer with an aluminium collar is commonly used with alcohol-based liquids. The finely dispersed dose suits perfumed waters and refreshing sprays. With a high content of essential oils or perfume compositions, we recommend checking after a few weeks whether the appearance of the sprayer or the scent of the contents has changed.
