Blue Glass Bottle, Black Tamper Evident Safety Cap & Dropper 100 ml

This blue glass bottle with a capacity of 100 ml, complemented by a plastic dropper insert and a black safety cap, is used for filling liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed drop by drop and should be protected from light. What the set consists of

• Blue glass medicine bottle – the bottle body with an 18/410 neck finish. The term medicine bottle describes the shape of a small bottle with a narrow neck and straight walls; it has nothing to do with the contents.
• Plastic dropper insert, short – a clear polypropylene insert that is pushed into the neck. The contents flow out drop by drop when the bottle is tilted; nothing is squeezed.
• Plastic safety cap, black smooth – a closure with an 18/410 thread.

What it is suitable for

The combination of blue glass and a dropper insert is useful for contents that are used in small amounts. These include essential oils and their blends, fragrance compositions for diffusers and candles, facial oils and oil serums, aromatherapy blends, alcohol tinctures and active ingredient concentrates added to cosmetics by the drop. The 100 ml capacity suits products that customers buy to last a longer time, as well as stock blends in a workshop.

The dropper insert works well with thin to medium-thick liquids. Thick oils, such as castor oil, or viscous serums flow slowly through the short dropper insert, and at a lower temperature the dispensing slows down even more. Creams, gels and emulsions with higher viscosity do not belong in this set; a container with a pump or a wider neck is more suitable for them.

Filling and capacity

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for with normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper insert, which reaches into the neck once pushed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise part of the contents is pushed out when the dropper insert is fitted and soils the thread.

Good to know

Before first use, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Disinfect the dropper insert and the cap in the same way, but without prolonged immersion in hot water, so that the plastic does not deform. Glass tolerates cleaning without restriction and can be reused. Each time before refilling, check that the dropper insert and the cap seal properly and are not damaged.

The dropper insert is made of polypropylene, the cap of polypropylene and polyethylene. For pure essential oils and compositions with a high solvent content, we recommend checking in advance how the plastic parts behave with the specific contents, especially during longer storage. Some essential oils may soften or discolour the plastic over time. The glass itself is resistant to cosmetic contents.

After use, the bottle is sorted as glass and the plastic parts separately as plastic, so separate them before recycling.
