Product description

The blue glass dropper bottle in 30 ml is a complete packaging and closure set for cosmetic preparations dispensed drop by drop. Blue glass reduces light exposure, helping to protect contents sensitive to light and oxidation – particularly facial and oil serums, blends of vegetable and essential oils, active ingredient concentrates, and tinctures. The dropper enables precise dispensing without spilling, making the set suitable wherever small amounts are taken from the packaging at a time.

The bottle has the shape of a vial – a straight cylinder with a narrowed neck that is easy to hold and to label. The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb, and a matte black PP ring that screws onto the neck. The tube length is matched to the bottle height, so the contents can be drawn up even at a low fill level.

What the set is suitable for

  • Oil serums and oil blends – glass does not react with oils, and they are dispensed drop by drop exactly where the customer needs them.
  • Concentrated active preparations – water-based and oil-based serums with a higher content of active ingredients, where small and repeatable dosing is important.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass resists alcohol and the blue colour limits the effect of light on the contents.
  • Essential oil blends – diluted in a carrier oil; for undiluted essential oils, we recommend checking compatibility with the silicone bulb.
  • Samples and small batches – the 30 ml volume is practical for testing formulations as well as for smaller retail packaging.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the packaging is intended for during standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them is the allowance for the dropper tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed in, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Both values are listed in the product specifications.

Before filling a larger batch, check on one bottle that the contents do not overflow through the neck after attaching the dropper. If you are filling thicker oils or serums with a gel texture, leave a slightly larger allowance.

Practical use

Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and dropper, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Fill the contents cooled; glass can withstand heat, but rapid temperature changes are not good for it. Tighten the dropper by hand so the silicone bulb and ring seal properly, but not by force – the glass tube is fragile.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity can be found with the product. The set is not declared for contact with food.

With strongly scented contents, such as essential oil blends, the scent may linger in the silicone bulb. When reusing for a different preparation, we recommend replacing the dropper to prevent scents from mixing.

Good to know

  • Repeated use – the bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection; check the tube and bulb for damage or staining.
  • Labelling – the cylindrical shape allows both wrap-around and front labels.
  • Water-based contents – water-based serums and tonics dispense equally well with the set, but must be adequately preserved, as the tube comes into contact with skin and air during use.
  • Closures – the dropper and other closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range; with a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dosing with the specific formulation.
  • Recycling – the bottle is glass and belongs in glass recycling; the dropper is a combination of glass, plastic, and silicone, so separate it from the bottle before recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Does the blue glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, blue glass reduces light exposure and thereby slows the degradation of sensitive ingredients such as vegetable oils, vitamins, and essential oils. It is not a complete barrier like an opaque packaging, so we recommend storing preparations away from direct sunlight regardless.
How much content fits in a 30 ml glass dropper bottle?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 30 ml. The total volume to the brim is larger, but the difference serves as an allowance for the dropper tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed in. If you filled the bottle to the neck, the contents would overflow when the dropper is attached.
Is the dropper suitable for oil serums?
Yes, the dropper with a glass tube is suitable for oil serums and oil blends and dispenses them drop by drop. With thicker oils, drops form more slowly, but dosing remains precise. For undiluted essential oils, we recommend checking their compatibility with the silicone bulb.
Can a glass dropper bottle be used for alcohol tinctures?
Yes, glass resists alcohol and is suitable for tinctures and alcohol extracts. The blue colour also limits the effect of light on herbal components. Before filling, we recommend checking whether alcohol alters the silicone bulb of the dropper on prolonged contact – at standard concentrations this is generally not an issue.
How to prepare the glass bottle and dropper before filling?
Before first filling, wash the bottle and dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube or on the walls could trigger microbial contamination, particularly with water-based serums. We recommend the same procedure for repeated use.
Is the dropper set also suitable for water-based serums or tonics?
Yes, water-based preparations dispense well with the set, but must be effectively preserved. The dropper tube comes into contact with air and skin with each use, so the contamination risk is higher than with closed pump dispensers. The set is not suitable for water-based serums without preservation.
