PCA (pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, Engl. Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) is naturally present in the human organism, is a component of the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF), is found in the skin in the form of a salt, and plays a significant role in ensuring its hydration.

Zinc PCA is a multifunctional raw material:

*      regulates the amount of sebum and treats acne manifestations
*      hydrates, because it strongly binds moisture
*      has strong antimicrobial effects – acts against gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and yeasts
*      forms, together with fatty acids responsible for body odour, odourless salts of sweat and skin lipids, thereby reducing body odour

The zinc salt is not sensitive to heat, therefore it can be incorporated into both the warm and the hot phase. Unlike zinc, Zinc PCA as a salt is easily soluble in water.

Dosage: 0.2–1 % (it is necessary to maintain the solution pH at 5–6, above pH 7 pronounced flocculation occurs – zinc is sensitive to alkali metals), 0.3 % in shampoos

Use: moisturizing preparations, shampoos, conditioners, masks, facial cosmetics, anti-acne products, deodorants and products with a deodorizing character, hair tonics

All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, unsuitable for internal use.
