Product description
A glass bottle with a sprayer, 10 ml in capacity, is used wherever a liquid is applied as a fine mist: perfume samples and testers, a travel pack of toner or hydrosol, a refreshing face spray, or a small amount of alcohol for spritzing the surface of soap. Clear glass shows the colour and the amount of contents remaining, so it is easy to see when a refill is needed. The black fine mist sprayer with a smoky overcap is supplied together with the bottle as a set, the two parts are matched and there is nothing else to buy.
What the set is suited for
- Perfume and fragrance samples – alcohol-based fragrance compositions are sprayed evenly in a fine mist from a small glass bottle.
- Hydrosols and toners – water-based face sprays in a small volume that is used up within a few days.
- Travel pack – the bottle is low and the smoky overcap protects the head from being pressed accidentally in a bag.
- Workshop helper – a small sprayer with alcohol for spritzing freshly poured soap or for lightly moistening loose raw materials before pressing.
- Testers for customers – a uniform sample format that can be filled with several fragrances from one series.
How the set dispenses
The sprayer disperses the contents into a fine mist, and one press releases approximately 0.12 ml. A single fill therefore yields dozens of sprays, which is enough for a perfume sample or several days of using a toner. The fine mist sprayer is intended for thin liquids: water, hydrosols, alcohol solutions, light toners and fragrance compositions. Thick oils, serums with higher viscosity or gel textures will either not be sprayed by the pump at all, or will be pushed out in a stream.
The sprayer tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom.
Shorten the tube gradually, preferably in two steps. A shortened tube cannot be lengthened again, and if it is too short, contents that cannot be sprayed remain at the bottom.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and you will find it in the product parameters. The difference between them provides room for the tube and the pump of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill up to the neck, the contents are pushed out through the thread when the sprayer is screwed on, and the bottle may stay wet on the outside.
Preparation and reuse
Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer by pressing it several times with clean alcohol and then with water, so that no residues remain in the tube and the pump. Glass can be reused without limit. For the sprayer, its service life depends on the contents: after perfumes and alcohol solutions rinsing is enough, but after products with dyes or a strong fragrance it is better to replace the sprayer, since odours and pigment may persist in the plastic tube.
Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Store fragrance compositions, hydrosols and products with sensitive active ingredients in a closed cabinet or in a box, not on a windowsill or on a shelf in the sun.
Good to know
- Suitability for cosmetics – both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and Handymade issues an EU declaration of conformity for them. The set is not intended for contact with food.
- Sprayer material – the sprayer is made of polypropylene. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or with solvents, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing in the finished formulation.
- Other closures – closures with the same neck type and other ready-made packaging + closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, check the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling, and the plastic sprayer is unscrewed before disposal and sorted separately as plastic.
