Combining with closures and dispensers

The glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators), depending on the parameters selected at purchase. Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific cosmetic or technical formulation.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

How should I correctly prepare the bottle before the first filling?

Before first use, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle and cap to remove dust and any production residues. It is then advisable to disinfect the packaging with a suitable alcohol solution, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol intended for this purpose. In the range you will find, for example, IPA 99 % and plant-derived ethanol in the raw materials category. After cleaning and disinfection, allow the packaging to dry completely at room temperature and only then proceed to fill it with the finished product.

Is it possible to reuse this glass bottle?

Yes, the glass packaging can be reused if handled correctly and if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle and cap must always be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/) or denatured plant ethanol (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/). Only after the disinfected parts have completely dried do we recommend refilling the packaging. When changing the type of product (for example from an oil-based to a water-based product), it is advisable to carry out more thorough cleaning and also consider replacing the closure.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle the bottle if I do not wish to reuse it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting regulations. After adequate rinsing, the glass part of the bottle can be placed in a container designated for glass, provided this is recommended by recycling rules in your country or region. The cap with safety lock (made of plastic material) is normally placed in a container for plastic waste. To determine the correct method of disposal and sorting, always also refer to the material information stated in the parameters of the specific product on the product page and to local waste regulations.

For which types of formulations is this bottle most suitable?

The glass bottle with safety-lock cap is ideal for smaller volumes of concentrated preparations where dosing accuracy and protection of the contents are important. These can include facial and hair serums, oil blends, special active concentrates, intensive treatments or test samples of finished products. Due to the inert nature of glass, it is generally suitable for both water-based and oil-based systems; for each new formulation, however, we recommend performing your own compatibility test, especially if the product contains a higher proportion of acids, solvents or atypical active substances.
