This ready-made set of a small clear glass bottle with a nominal volume of 15 ml and a white matte dropper is designed for exactly that kind of dispensing – it is particularly suitable for facial serums, face and nail oils, blends of essential oils in a carrier oil, tinctures or trial recipe samples. Clear glass shows the colour and clarity of the contents, while the white matte dropper looks neutral and pairs easily with your own label.

How the set works

The dropper consists of a plastic screw ring, a silicone bulb and a glass tube. Squeezing the bulb draws the contents into the tube, and releasing it dispenses drop by drop. The tube is glass, so it will not discolour or become brittle on contact with oils and tinctures.

When filling, it is important to distinguish between nominal and total volume. The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the rim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the submerged dropper tube, which displaces some of the contents, and for the expansion of the filling when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim – otherwise the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is inserted.

What is good to know

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. For oils prone to oxidation, essential oils, vitamin serums and anything that is sensitive to UV radiation, amber or blue glass is more suitable, or the clear packaging should be stored in a box or in the dark. Choose clear glass when you want the contents to be visible and the stability of the filling allows it.

Before first use, wash and disinfect both the bottle and the dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. The packaging can be reused after thorough cleaning; when changing the type of filling (for example, from an essential oil to a water-based serum), watch out for residual fragrance in the silicone bulb.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Allow hot contents to cool before filling and do not put a bottle with a water-based filling in the freezer, as the contents expand when frozen.

Glass goes in the glass recycling stream. Disassemble the dropper into the plastic ring, glass tube and silicone bulb and sort each part according to its material.
