Product description

This is a ready-made kit for dispensing liquid and creamy cosmetic preparations: a transparent 150 ml plastic bottle with a matching white-and-gold dispenser. The packaging is intended mainly for body lotions, light creams, facial emulsions, liquid soaps, shampoos and conditioners – that is, for anything you want to dispense hygienically, without opening the bottle and without fingers touching the contents. The transparent bottle shows the contents, while the white dispenser with a gold collar gives the packaging a clean, refined look suitable for both sale and gifting.

The bottle is made of PET, which is light, unbreakable and resistant to everyday handling, so it is well suited for the bathroom, the shower and for travelling. Both the bottle and the dispenser are individually declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and technical documentation are available with the product. The kit as a whole is intended for cosmetics and is not declared for food contact.

Key benefits

  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not touch the hands, so the risk of contamination by fingers is significantly lower than with an open jar.
  • Measured dose – one press delivers approximately 1 ml of the preparation, which is enough for a single application to the hands or face; for body lotion the customer presses two or three times. The amount can therefore easily be stated in the instructions for use.
  • Transparency – the colour, texture and level of the product are visible, which you will appreciate with coloured emulsions, gel textures or with goods where you want to show the purity of the formulation.
  • Practical volume – 150 ml is a widely used format for body lotions, hand creams for the bathroom, facial cleansing emulsions or smaller shampoo packages.
  • Ready-made combination – the bottle and the dispenser share the same 24/410 thread, so there is no need to test the tightness of different closures.

What the kit is and is not suitable for

The dispenser works reliably with contents that flow or are moderately thick: body and facial lotions, light to moderately thick creams, liquid soaps, shampoos, shower gels, conditioners, gel cleansers, massage emulsions. Thick butters, balms, nourishing night creams with a high wax content or preparations that solidify at room temperature will not be drawn up by the dispenser or will be dispensed irregularly – for these, jars or pots are more suitable.

For pure essential oils, perfume compositions with a high content of fragrance substances or solvents we do not recommend the PET bottle; these are aggressive substances that can over time cloud or soften the plastic or cause it to release an odour. Ready-made emulsions and rinse-off products with a normal fragrance content are fine. For anhydrous oil serums or body oils PET is usable, but the dispenser is designed rather for emulsions – with thin oils, expect the dose to flow quickly and possibly drip.

The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. For preparations with sensitive active ingredients (vitamin C, retinol, unstabilised vegetable oils) expect faster oxidation, or choose packaging made of coloured material, or store the kit out of direct light.

Filling: nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 150 ml is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is larger – it is the physical volume all the way up to the neck. The difference forms a reserve for the tube and the dispenser mechanism and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; if overfilled, the contents will be pushed out through the neck after the dispenser is screwed on, or will remain in the thread and spoil the label.

The dispenser tube is longer than the height of the bottle. Before first assembly, shorten it with a sharp knife so that it ends just above the bottom – the dispenser will then draw up even the last doses and can be tightened into the thread without bending the tube.

What is good to know when working with the kit

Before first filling, wash the bottle and the dispenser, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the tube or in the dispenser chamber would dilute the first doses and could introduce microorganisms into the unopened product.

After filling, „prime“ the dispenser with a few presses until the chamber fills and the first dose comes out. The first presses push out only air – this is normal behaviour, not a fault of the closure.

The kit is suitable for repeated use provided it is thoroughly cleaned when the contents are changed. The tube and the inside of the dispenser are cleaned by rinsing with warm water and a small amount of detergent and then pumping clean water through; everything must dry before refilling. Residues of emulsion or oil in the mechanism deteriorate over time and contaminate the new contents.

The dispenser combines plastic (PP) and aluminium. With contents that have a very low pH or a high content of alcohol or electrolytes, it is advisable to verify the behaviour of the closure during a storage test before sale – the colour and tightness should remain unchanged.

The bottle dimensions for label design can be found in the parameters. The bottle is made of PET, which is commonly recycled; the dispenser with its metal part should be separated from the bottle before recycling.

Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle + closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination we recommend verifying the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is a transparent plastic bottle with a dispenser suitable for cream?
Yes, the kit is suitable for light to moderately thick creams and emulsions that can be drawn up through the tube and pushed out by the dispenser. Thick nourishing creams, balms and butters that do not flow at room temperature will not be processed reliably by the dispenser – for these a jar or pot is better. For a borderline texture we recommend a trial filling of one bottle and checking the dose after a few days.
How much product does one press of the dispenser deliver?
One press delivers approximately 1 ml of the preparation, somewhat less with thicker emulsions. For hand creams or facial emulsions one dose corresponds to one application, while for body lotion two or three presses are expected. The exact amount depends on the viscosity of the contents and on whether the dispenser chamber is completely filled.
Does the transparent PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, the transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. It is suitable for stable emulsions, rinse-off products and preparations whose composition is not affected by light. Preparations with sensitive active ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol or unstabilised vegetable oils, are better filled into coloured packaging, or the kit should be stored and displayed out of direct light.
Can the bottle with the dispenser be filled to the brim?
No, the bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 150 ml, not to the brim. The difference between the nominal and total volume is a reserve for the tube and the dispenser mechanism and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If overfilled, the contents will be pushed out through the neck after the dispenser is screwed on and will spoil the thread or the label.
How to clean the dispenser before repeated use?
The dispenser is cleaned by rinsing with warm water and a small amount of detergent and then pumping clean water through until only water comes out of the tube. Then let it dry completely and, before refilling, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Residues of the old contents in the chamber would contaminate the new product and could clog the mechanism.
Is the kit suitable for alcohol-based toners or essential oils?
For pure essential oils and perfume compositions the kit is not suitable; concentrated fragrance substances can over time cloud the PET or cause it to release an odour. Ready-made emulsions and rinse-off products with a normal fragrance content are fine. For alcohol-based toners we recommend testing the kit first during a storage test, because the dispenser is not a sprayer and thin liquids come out of it in a stream.
