Product description

A plastic spray bottle with a capacity of 100 ml is a complete set for products applied to the skin, hair, or into the air as a fine mist. The clear PET bottle is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it suitable for the bathroom, handbag, and travel, while also showing the colour and clarity of the contents. The black sprayer with a shiny gold collar fits the bottle neck precisely, so there is no need to source a compatible closure separately.

The set is particularly suitable for thin aqueous and hydroalcoholic products: facial tonics and waters, hydrolates, body and hair sprays, refreshing mists, and room fragrances. The dark sprayer with a gold detail looks polished even on products intended for retail sale or as a gift.

How the set dispenses

The sprayer delivers approximately 0.12 ml of product per press as a fine mist. The small dose makes even application easier and helps gauge usage: a tonic or hair spray is applied with a few pumps and does not overflow. On first use, pump the sprayer several times without product until the mechanism is primed.

Spray quality depends on the viscosity of the contents. Thin liquids form a fine mist. Thicker contents, such as gels, lotions, or oils, tend to come out as a stream or in large droplets and can clog the mechanism over time. Biphasic products must be shaken before each use so that both phases reach the dip tube in equal proportions.

The dip tube should reach just above the bottom of the bottle. If it is too long and bends inside the bottle, trim it with clean scissors at an angle. This allows the bottle to be emptied down to almost the last dose.

Nominal and total volume

Two volumes are listed for the bottle. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total volume is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the rim of the neck. The difference between them accounts for the dip tube and sprayer body, which displace some product when screwed in, and for liquid expansion due to temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What to know before filling

  • Container preparation – Before first use, wash the bottle, rinse with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Spray a small amount of disinfectant solution through the sprayer to clean the dip tube and mechanism.
  • Filling temperature – PET is not intended for hot-fill applications. Fill only once the product has cooled to room temperature; do not boil or sterilise the bottle with hot water.
  • Light – The clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. Store products with light-sensitive ingredients (botanical extracts, certain vitamins, natural colorants) in a dark place or in a box, or choose packaging made from a dark material.
  • Label – The bottle dimensions needed for label design are listed in the parameters. Apply the label to a clean, dry, and degreased surface.
  • Reuse – The bottle can be refilled after thorough washing and disinfection. The sprayer is harder to clean thoroughly, so it is advisable to replace it after extended use or when switching to a different type of product.
  • Recycling – The bottle is made of PET; the sprayer combines plastic and aluminium. Separate them before placing in the recycling stream.

Undiluted essential oils, fragrance compositions, and strong solvents can damage both the PET bottle and the plastic parts of the sprayer. Only finished, diluted products should be filled into this container. If the formulation contains a higher proportion of alcohol or fragrance, test the container's behaviour with a trial sample.

Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is intended for cosmetics; it is not intended for food or beverages.

The bottle neck has a standard thread size listed in the parameters, so it can later be combined with a different closure of the same type from the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosage, and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

What products are suitable for the 100 ml plastic spray bottle?
The 100 ml plastic spray bottle is suitable for thin aqueous and hydroalcoholic products applied by spraying. Typical examples include facial tonics, hydrolates, body and hair sprays, refreshing mists, and room fragrances. The sprayer creates a fine mist and dispenses small amounts at a time, resulting in even, economical application. Thick and oil-based contents do not spray well.
Can oil or gel be sprayed from the plastic spray bottle?
Generally not as a fine mist. The sprayer is designed for thin, water-like liquids. Oils, gels, and lotions come out as a stream or in large droplets, and thicker contents can clog the mechanism. With light oils and thin emulsions, it is worth running a test with one bottle before filling an entire batch.
Can a product containing alcohol or essential oils be filled into the PET spray bottle?
Yes, as long as it is a finished, diluted product. Standard tonics and sprays with alcohol and a low proportion of essential oils or fragrance are generally well tolerated by PET. Undiluted essential oils, fragrance compositions, and strong solvents should not be used in this container, as they can damage the plastic. For products with a high proportion of alcohol or fragrance, we recommend testing a trial sample and observing it over several weeks.
Is the 100 ml plastic spray bottle suitable for food use?
No, the 100 ml plastic spray bottle is not intended for contact with food or beverages. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the set is therefore intended for cosmetics, such as tonics, hydrolates, and body or hair sprays. For food-grade use, a container with explicit food-contact approval must be chosen.
How is the PET spray bottle cleaned, and can it be reused?
The PET spray bottle can be reused if thoroughly washed and disinfected before refilling. Wash with lukewarm water and mild detergent — not hot water — then rinse with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry. Flush the sprayer by pumping clean water and disinfectant solution through it. After extended use or when changing the type of product, replacing the sprayer is the more reliable approach.
