The set of a transparent 100 ml PET bottle and a mechanical sprayer is designed for thin cosmetic products applied as a fine mist. The bottle and sprayer share the same thread and fit together precisely, so the packaging is ready to use immediately after filling.

The clear PET shows the colour and clarity of the contents. It is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it suitable for the bathroom, a handbag, and travel. The tall, slim shape is comfortable to hold. The black sprayer with a glossy silver ring gives the packaging a neat appearance suitable for products intended for sale. What the set is suitable for

Facial tonics and hydrolats – a fine mist covers the skin evenly without the need for a cotton pad.

How the sprayer dispenses

The mechanical sprayer works without a propellant gas. Pressing the actuator draws liquid up through the dip tube and breaks it into fine droplets at the nozzle. A single press delivers approximately 0.12 ml, so a typical application of tonic to the face corresponds to several presses. Before first use, the actuator must be pressed several times without product until the mechanism is primed.

Spray quality depends mainly on the viscosity of the contents. Thin aqueous and alcohol solutions produce a fine mist. Thick liquids, gels, and pure oils tend to emerge as a stream or large droplets. Undissolved particles — such as plant residues, clays, or glitters — can clog the nozzle.

If the dip tube is longer than the inside of the bottle and bends at the base, trim it with clean scissors at an angle so it ends just above the bottom. An angled cut prevents the tube from suctioning to the base, allowing the sprayer to empty the contents almost completely.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is therefore slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the dip tube and sprayer body, which displace some liquid when screwed on, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. Wash the bottle with warm water and a cleaning agent, rinse, and disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Pump a disinfectant solution through the sprayer several times. Allow both parts to dry completely before filling.

Material sensitivity. PET tolerates aqueous solutions, diluted alcohol, and common cosmetic ingredients well. Higher concentrations of essential oils, fragrance compounds, and solvents may degrade or cloud the plastic over time. It is advisable to test a specific formulation in one filled bottle first.

PET is not intended for hot filling or boiling; the bottle may deform at high temperatures. Allow contents to cool before filling and use alcohol rather than boiling water for disinfection.

Protecting contents from light. The transparent bottle provides no protection against light. Store products with light-sensitive ingredients in a cupboard or box, or use a label that covers most of the bottle surface.

Labelling. The straight cylindrical wall allows a label to be applied around the full circumference. The bottle dimensions needed for label design are listed in the product parameters.

Alternative closure for the same bottle. Closures with the same neck type (stated in the parameters) and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. Sorting. The bottle is made of PET and belongs in the plastics recycling stream. The sprayer is composed of plastic and aluminium and should therefore be separated from the bottle before sorting.

Frequently asked questions

Can the 100 ml plastic bottle with sprayer be used for oil?

A mechanical sprayer is only moderately suitable for pure vegetable oils. Oil has a higher viscosity than water, so it tends to emerge from the nozzle as a narrow stream or large droplets rather than a fine mist. Very thin esters or two-phase products that are shaken before use perform better. It is advisable to test the specific mixture in advance.

Is the PET bottle with sprayer suitable for alcohol-based fragrances?

Yes, the set is also used for water-alcohol body mists and fragrances. With a high proportion of fragrance compounds or essential oils, we recommend testing with one filled bottle. Monitor over several weeks whether the plastic clouds or deforms and whether the sprayer remains airtight.

How much product does the sprayer on the 100 ml bottle dispense per press?

A single press delivers approximately 0.12 ml of liquid. From a 100 ml bottle, this amounts to roughly several hundred doses for a thin aqueous content. The actual quantity depends on the viscosity of the product and whether the actuator is pressed all the way down. Thicker contents also disperse less evenly.

Why has the sprayer on the bottle stopped spraying and how can it be cleaned?

The most common cause is a clogged nozzle or dried product residue in the mechanism. Submerging the dip tube in warm water and pumping several times helps, followed by pumping ethanol or isopropyl alcohol in the same way. If the dip tube has suctioned to the bottom of the bottle, trimming it at an angle is sufficient. Contents with undissolved particles should be filtered before filling.

Can the 100 ml bottle with sprayer be reused?

Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer can be refilled after thorough cleaning and disinfection. However, the inside of the sprayer mechanism cannot be inspected visually, and residues from the previous contents may remain. This is generally acceptable for personal use; for products intended for sale, we recommend using a new sprayer each time.
