A transparent plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a disc top cap is packaging for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed by squeezing the bottle. It is made of PET, making it lightweight, shatterproof, and suitable for the bathroom, shower, and travel. How to dispense with a disc top cap

Pressing one side of the black disc causes the other side to flip open, revealing the dispensing opening. The product is dispensed by gently squeezing the bottle. Pressing the flipped part back closes the cap. The opening is small, so small amounts are easy to dispense and the contents do not spill immediately if the bottle is knocked over.

The tall, slim shape of the bottle is comfortable to hold and the flexible PET walls make it easier to squeeze out thicker products. The cap is made of aluminium and polypropylene.

Which products it is suitable for

• Shampoos and shower gels – the consistency of thickened surfactant products matches the size of the opening and the bottle can be operated with a wet hand in the shower.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – liquid O/W emulsions dispense evenly.
• Conditioners and hair masks of a thinner consistency – squeezing the bottle allows the last of the contents to be dispensed.
• Massage and body oils – the small opening limits spillage and the oil can be dispensed directly into the palm.
• Liquid soaps and cleansing gels – especially in travel packaging or as a sample of a larger product.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. Total volume to the brim is slightly larger, as it includes the space in the neck. This difference serves as a reserve for the cap and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle may push product out through the thread when closing or when warmed.

What to know before filling

Before first filling, it is recommended to wash both the bottle and the cap, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water inside the container increases the risk of microbial contamination, particularly in products with a water phase.
