Product description

Wooden wick 0.4 Booster PRASK 9.5 mm short is a special component designed for stable and safe burning of candles in various types of containers and decorative packaging. Thanks to the precisely selected profile and “booster” construction, it is particularly suitable for natural waxes, where it ensures even burning and the aesthetic effect of gentle crackling. When the diameter and type of container are correctly selected, this wooden wick helps achieve optimal wax melt, longer burning time and a professional result when producing design candles.

Possible uses

  • poured candles in glass vials, jars and decorative glasses
  • natural candles made of soy, coconut, rapeseed and blended wax
  • aromatherapeutic candles with essential oils and fragrance oils
  • design candles in cosmetic jars as an addition to product sets
  • test and sample candles in smaller containers

Packaging advantages

  • Stable burning – the wooden wick with booster profile supports even burning and helps minimize wax tunneling in a correctly selected container.
  • Aesthetic and sound effect – the characteristic gentle crackling during burning increases the perceived value of the candle and creates a premium impression of the product.
  • Natural material – wood is popular in handmade candle production with an emphasis on natural and design-oriented packaging solutions.
  • Universal use in containers – suitable for glass jars, glasses, vials or other decorative containers intended for candles.
  • Easy integration into product lines – suitable for gift sets with cosmetics, where candles complement creams, oils or diffusers.

Combining with closures and dispensers

The wooden wick is intended for use in candle containers such as glass jars, pots, glasses or vials without a closure during burning. However, containers in which the wick is poured with wax are often complemented with protective closures or lids for the storage and sales phase (for example metal or plastic lids or decorative covers). The packaging and closure combinations that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, appearance, stability of the wick and the behavior of the wax in contact with the specific formulation and type of container).

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Most frequent questions

How do I choose the right wooden wick for my container and wax?

Always adapt the selection of the wick to the diameter of the container, the type of wax and the amount of added fragrance or essential oils. It is recommended to create several test candles with different wick widths and to observe the burning for at least several hours (burning width, flame height, carbon build-up). The wooden wick with booster profile is particularly suitable for natural waxes, but the final setting must always be verified by your own testing.

Is it possible to use this wooden wick repeatedly in different containers?

The wooden wick is intended for single use in a specific candle, but the container itself (jar, pot or vial) can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before refilling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned of wax residues, impurities and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based to ensure hygienic cleanliness before new filling.

How to correctly prepare the container for pouring wax with a wooden wick?

Before pouring, it is appropriate to thoroughly wash the container, dry it and remove dust or grease. The wooden wick is placed into a metal or other suitable base and firmly fixed to the bottom of the container so that it stands upright. After pouring, we recommend letting the candle stabilize at room temperature and before the first lighting shortening the upper part of the wick to the recommended length according to the results of your tests. A container with a candle prepared in this way ensures safer and more stable burning.

How to safely dispose of or recycle the container after the candle has burned out?

After the candle has burned out and the wax has cooled, remove the wax residues and the remaining wooden wick. Sort the container according to the type of material into the appropriate waste – glass jars and vials into the glass container, plastic containers into plastic waste and metal lids into metal waste, always in accordance with local waste sorting rules. If the packaging has a specific material marking or recycling symbol, follow it according to the information given in the parameters of the specific product. If you decide not to reuse the container, its recycling is the most environmentally friendly solution.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

To select a suitable jar, vial or other container, you can use the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. In the filter you can easily set the desired parameters such as neck type, size, color or packaging material. Thanks to this you will find a suitable container for candles, cosmetics or other products more quickly, which you can combine with a wooden wick according to your needs.
