Product description

Euxyl PE 9010 is a completely clear and transparent liquid preservative for cosmetic products from the manufacturer Ashland.

It is suitable for all types of rinse-off and non-rinse-off products, as well as for products intended for sensitive skin and for cosmetics intended for the eye area. Even at low concentrations it is very effective and provides a complete preservative system with a broad balanced spectrum of efficacy against both Gram+ and Gram- bacteria, yeasts and moulds. It does not contain parabens or formaldehyde. Active ingredient phenoxyethanol (w/w = 90%), supplemented with 10% ethylhexylglycerin. Both ingredients have undergone a thorough toxicological study, whereby the upper concentration limit in the products has been set at 1.1%.

Euxyl® PE 9010 is stable to hydrolysis, temperature and pH. Due to its good solubility, Euxyl PE 9010 is easily dispersed in various systems even at low temperatures. Euxyl® PE 9010 is effective over a wide pH range up to 12.

Recommended dosage: 0.5 - 1.0%

Solubility: Euxyl™ PE 9010 has limited solubility in water. Approximately 1.0 g of Euxyl™ PE 9010 will dissolve in 100 g of water at 20 °C. In polar solvents such as 1,2-propylene glycol, propanol or alcohol, Euxyl™ PE 9010 is readily soluble. It is moderately soluble in polyalcohols such as glycerol and sorbitol. In isopropyl myristate it shows limited solubility.

Tolerates high salt content. High surfactant concentrations may result in loss of efficacy.

The maximum permitted dosage according to EU Regulation 76/768/EEC is 1,1 % in both rinse-off and rinse-free products.

All raw materials supplied are of cosmetic quality, not suitable for internal use. Please use appropriate protective equipment when handling.
