The wooden wick represents a stylish and practical solution for creating natural candles in glass as well as in other containers. Thanks to its design, it is suitable for use in various types of packaging and jars intended for candles, where it helps ensure even burning and a clean flame. This wick is ideal for the production of designer candles that combine functionality, aesthetics and craftsmanship.
The wooden wick is stable, holds its shape well and, with a properly designed wax blend, supports smooth burning without excessive smoking. It is suitable for making candles in glass, ceramic or metal containers, which you can use as attractive accessories to your cosmetic packaging or gift sets. With a suitable combination of packaging, wax and fragrance, you will achieve a professional result that will stand out even in a portfolio of handmade products.
For the wooden wick we recommend choosing a heat‑resistant container – for example a glass vial, jar or pot specified by the manufacturer for candles. When choosing from the Handymade range, it is practical to follow the recommendations given for specific packaging in the same category, or to prepare a test series with different container diameters and verify the behaviour of the flame. It is important that a sufficient safety distance from the container walls is maintained around the wick throughout the entire burning time.
The wooden wick is primarily intended for use in a single candle; however, the container in which the candle is poured can be reused, provided that hygiene principles are observed. Before refilling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant‑based. Packaging prepared in this way is suitable for safe further use when making a new candle.
For testing, we recommend pouring several trial candles into different containers and using the same type of wax that you plan to use in the final product. After complete solidification, let the candle burn long enough for a full wax pool to form, and monitor the flame height, burning rate, smoke formation and any uneven melting. On this basis, you can fine‑tune the wick length, type of wax or, if necessary, the size of the container in order to achieve stable and safe burning.
After the candle has burned out, first remove any remaining wax and the metal or adhesive components used to secure the wick. If you decide not to reuse the container, follow the recommendations according to the material specified in the parameters of the specific packaging on the product page on Handymade. Glass is normally placed in the glass waste container, plastic parts (if they are part of the packaging) in sorted plastic waste, and metal components according to local sorting rules. By following these principles, you support an environmentally friendly approach.
On Handymade you can use the extended filter, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected packaging material category. Using the filter, you can quickly narrow down the selection according to neck type, size, colour and packaging material. In this way, you will find a vial, pharmaceutical bottle, jar or pot that will best match your product and its combination with the wooden wick or other accessories.
