Fresh Man Fragrance Oil, 10 ml

Fragrance oil Fresh Man is a synthetic perfume composition for scenting cosmetics, soaps, candles and household products. By character it belongs to fresh, masculinely tuned fragrances such as those known from eau de toilette and aftershave products. This is also reflected in its most common uses: shower gels, bar soaps, deodorants, aftershave balms and body lotions for men.

It is supplied in cosmetic quality as a concentrate that is added to the formulation in small amounts and serves a single function: it is the fragrance ingredient. It contains no ingredients of animal origin, parabens, phthalates or silicones and has not been tested on animals. It is used in both rinse-off and leave-on products.

What it is suitable for

• Men's body care – shower gels, bar and liquid soaps, body lotions and creams where the fragrance should remain fresh.
• Aftershave and deodorant products – aftershave waters and balms, stick deodorants, roll-ons and sprays.
• Hair care – shampoos, conditioners and styling products; the fragrance is also suitable for the scalp.
• Bath bombs and salts – anhydrous mixtures into which the oil is blended directly.
• Candles, diffusers and air fresheners – container and poured candles, reed diffusers, wax melts and room sprays.
• Laundry and textile care – laundry detergents and fabric softeners.

Use in formulation

The oil is insoluble in water and dissolves in alcohol, oils and glycols. In emulsions, oil serums, butters and anhydrous products it is therefore simply blended into the oil phase or into the finished base. For tonics, body sprays, water-based air fresheners and other clear aqueous products a solubiliser is needed; otherwise the fragrance will separate and form droplets on the surface. In alcoholic preparations, such as aftershave waters or perfumed sprays, it dissolves directly.

It is added during the cooling phase or subsequently to the finished base, at a temperature below 40 °C. Higher temperatures evaporate volatile components and alter the character of the fragrance. With emulsions, therefore, complete the emulsification first, allow the mass to cool, and add the fragrance together with other heat-sensitive ingredients.

The composition tolerates acidic, neutral and alkaline pH and is compatible with anionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants. It can therefore be used in shampoos and shower gels as well as in conditioners with cationic components or in the alkaline environment of soap. The oil has a yellow colour. With white creams and transparent gels with a higher fragrance content, test the resulting shade on a small sample.

Good to know

The maximum dosage is not a single number for all products. It is governed by IFRA categories according to the type of finished product: a different percentage applies to a lip balm (category 1), a deodorant (category 2), a face cream (5B), a shower gel (9) or a candle (12). The limits for individual categories are stated in the IFRA certificate for the product and serve as the basis for formulation design.

The product contains fragrance allergens listed in Annex III of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, including the extended list under Regulation (EU) 2023/1545. Their list and content can be found in the product documentation. You will need them when labelling the finished cosmetic product and for its safety assessment.

The concentrate is classified under the CLP Regulation and bears the GHS07 (irritant, sensitising) and GHS09 (hazardous to the aquatic environment) pictograms. The classification applies to the undiluted oil. Instructions for safe handling are in the safety data sheet.
