Product description
Glass bottle, vial-style, with a black-gold dropper cap, 30 ml is a complete packaging and closure set for precise drop-by-drop dispensing of liquid cosmetic preparations. Suitable for facial and hair serums, oil elixirs, tinctures, concentrates of active ingredients, and custom oil blends in small packaging. The vial-shaped bottle is made of amber glass, which reduces light transmission and helps protect light-sensitive contents such as plant oils, vitamin serums, or blends with essential oils. The black-gold dropper cap completes the packaging into a closed and visually clean unit.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial and hair serums – the dropper allows precise application of just a few drops without contaminating the bottle neck and without waste.
- Oil blends and elixirs – glass does not react with plant or essential oils, and the amber colour slows down oxidation of the contents due to light exposure.
- Tinctures and concentrates – alcoholic and hydroalcoholic contents are stable in glass and the dropper makes it easy to measure the dose.
- Samples and gift packaging – the small volume is suitable for test versions of formulations or for packaging that the customer will use up within a reasonable time.
How to work with the dropper
The dropper consists of a glass tube, a squeeze bulb and a screw cap that threads onto the bottle neck. The length of the tube is matched to the height of the bottle, so it reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be drawn up even at a low level. When drawing liquid, squeeze the bulb before submerging it in the liquid and release it only once it is below the surface. Otherwise air will enter the tube and the drops will be uneven.
Content viscosity affects the size and speed of the drops. Light oils and aqueous solutions are easy to dispense. Thick oils or preparations with a higher proportion of thickeners draw up more slowly and produce larger drops. With very thick textures, the dropper may not draw up the contents at all, so we recommend testing the dropper's behaviour with the specific formulation before filling an entire batch.
After each use, tighten the dropper so that the cap sits straight on the neck. A dropper fitted at an angle does not seal properly, and with oily contents the thread will eventually become blocked.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the quantity for which the container is designed for standard filling, and it is this figure that appears on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides the headspace taken up by the submerged dropper tube and allows for expansion of the contents with temperature change. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The exact values of both volumes are given in the product specifications.
Good to know
Contact with cosmetics and food. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact, but the dropper does not, so the complete set is not intended for food use. If you need a bottle for home oils or syrups, choose it without this dropper and with a closure that carries a food-contact certificate.
Preparation before first fill. Wash both the bottle and the dropper before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube could dilute anhydrous contents or promote microbial growth in aqueous preparations.
Material limitations. Glass is not sensitive to essential oils or solvents, but the plastic and silicone parts of the dropper come into contact with them with every squeeze. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or with alcohol, we recommend checking whether the bulb softens over time and whether the scent of the contents changes. Do not expose glass to sudden temperature changes and do not fill it with hot contents.
The bottle is made of glass and may break if dropped. When filling a larger batch, work on a padded surface and transport finished packages in a box with dividers.
Reuse and labelling. The bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. We recommend replacing the dropper when changing the contents, especially after oily preparations, which are difficult to remove from the tube and bulb. Label dimensions are given in the product specifications. The vial has a rounded transition between the body and the neck, so the label should sit on the straight part of the body.
Other closures. Other closures with the same neck type, as stated in the specifications, can also be used with the bottle. Ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dispensing, and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
Recycling. The glass bottle belongs in glass recycling. The dropper is made up of plastic, aluminium, glass and silicone, so it is advisable to separate the glass tube from the cap and bulb before disposal.
