Amber glass medicine bottle, white glossy dropper, 50 ml

A ready-made set for dispensing liquid preparations drop by drop: an amber glass medicine bottle with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a white glossy dropper with a glass tube, which screws directly onto the neck of the bottle. Amber glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, so changes triggered by light develop more slowly in a serum or oil packaged this way, and the contents stay in the condition in which they were filled for longer.

The dropper lets you take an exact amount without pouring and without the contents coming into contact with your fingers. The set is therefore suitable for facial serums, oil blends and other preparations where only a few drops are dispensed and each opening should be as brief as possible. Glass does not react with the contents and does not absorb fragrances, so it also handles preparations containing essential oils.

What it is good for

• Facial serums and oil serums – dispensing by the drop corresponds to the small amount applied to the skin at one time.
• Vegetable and cosmetic oils – especially those dispensed by the drop and meant to be kept away from light.
• Oil blends with essential oils – blends for massage or for a diffuser, where the exact number of drops matters.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts for cosmetic use – the dropper makes it easier to dose into the water phase or directly into the finished preparation.
• Samples and test batches – a volume of 50 ml is enough to test a formulation before a larger quantity is made.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them leaves room for the dropper tube, which takes up part of the volume once screwed on, and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore, fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill up to the neck, the contents will overflow when the dropper is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend washing both the medicine bottle and the dropper, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely, ideally with the tube pointing down.

Do not pour hot preparations into the medicine bottle, and do not alternate hot and cold water when washing it. The dropper combines glass, PP and silicone. With concentrated essential oils or preparations with a high alcohol content, we recommend checking beforehand that the silicone and plastic parts do not soften or change shape over the long term. The glass tube is not subject to such changes.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The certificate for direct contact with food applies only to the glass medicine bottle on its own. The dropper does not have this certificate, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

The medicine bottle has an 18 mm neck. You will find other closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made bottle and closure combinations, in the Handymade range. If you are making your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and behaviour of the closure with your specific formulation.

Once empty, the medicine bottle can be washed and reused. Glass belongs in glass recycling. The dropper is made of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
