Product description
The 30 ml glass dropper bottle in a glossy black finish is a ready-to-fill set for liquid preparations dispensed drop by drop. Opaque black glass protects the contents from light, making it especially suitable for facial serums, oil blends and tinctures whose active ingredients are sensitive to light. The dropper with a tamper-evident ring allows precise dispensing directly onto the palm or skin and also indicates whether the packaging has already been opened.
What the set contains and how it works
The base is a glass vial with a glossy black surface that is fully opaque. Unlike amber or blue glass, which only dampens light, black glass does not let any through, so the contents are not visible even when held up to the light. This is particularly valuable for preparations that change colour, scent or lose efficacy when exposed to light.
The second component is a black dropper with a glass tube, a plastic threaded collar and a silicone bulb. The tube reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle so that the last of the contents can be drawn up. The tamper-evident ring separates on the first unscrewing and signals the first opening. This is practical both for selling finished products and for gifts.
Key benefits
- Light protection – opaque black glass extends the stability of light-sensitive ingredients such as vitamin C, retinol, certain plant oils or essential oils.
- Drop-by-drop dispensing – the dropper measures out small amounts of serum, oil or concentrate without spilling and without finger contact with the contents.
- First-opening verification – the tamper-evident ring gives the customer assurance that no one has opened the packaging before them.
- Glass does not react with the contents – both the glass bottle and the glass dropper tube are chemically resistant, suitable even for alcohol-based tinctures and essential oil blends.
- Uniform black appearance – both the bottle and the dropper are the same colour, so the set looks complete even without a label.
Suitable for products such as
- Facial serums on a water or oil base, especially those with active ingredients sensitive to light.
- Oil serums and plant oil blends for the face, hair, beard or cuticles.
- Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions for diffusers or for diluting.
- Tinctures and alcohol-based extracts where drop-by-drop dispensing is desirable.
- Concentrates and active ingredients sold in small volumes for further incorporation into cosmetics.
The set is not suitable for thick creams or gels, as the dropper cannot draw them up. Suitable preparations are liquid to slightly viscous.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed for normal filling and by which it is labelled. Total brim volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper, which displaces part of the volume once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim — otherwise the contents will overflow when the dropper is fitted. The exact values for both volumes are given in the product parameters.
Before the first fill, wash and disinfect both the bottle and the dropper with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the dropper tube could spoil an anhydrous oil-based product.
What is good to know when filling and using
Contact with cosmetics and food. The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. A certificate for direct food contact applies separately to the glass bottle; the dropper does not carry one. The complete set with dropper is therefore intended for cosmetics, not for food use.
Essential oils and solvents. The bottle glass and the glass dropper tube do not react with them. With correct use, the silicone bulb does not come into contact with the contents. For long-term storage of concentrated essential oils, however, we recommend checking whether the bulb softens or deforms. Store the bottle upright so the contents do not rest in the bulb.
Reuse. The glass can be washed and used again. After washing the dropper, rinse it thoroughly and dry it; when changing the type of contents it is better to use a new one. The tamper-evident ring cannot be restored once first opened.
Temperature. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Hot contents in a cold bottle or vice versa can damage the glass, so allow the preparation to cool to room temperature before filling.
Labelling. Light or metallic labels are the most legible against a black background.
Recycling. The glass bottle goes in glass waste. The dropper combines glass, plastic and silicone, so separate the glass tube before disposal.
Tighten the dropper by hand, not by force. Over-tightening can damage the thread of the plastic collar or crack the bottle neck. We recommend testing the seal with your specific formulation before a larger production run.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.
