The blue glass bottle with a capacity of 10 ml and a black safety dropper is a set for small quantities of preparations that are dispensed drop by drop: facial and oil serums, diluted essential oils, active ingredient concentrates or samples from a test batch. Blue glass filters out part of the light, so it suits contents that lose stability, scent or colour more quickly in light. With the dropper you can measure out a few drops without tilting the bottle.

What it is used for

• Facial serums and oil blends – drop dispensing is practical for concentrated preparations where only a few drops are applied per use.
• Diluted essential oils and fragrance blends – blue glass limits the effect of light on the fragrance components, and the dropper lets you measure an exact number of drops into a recipe.
• Samples and test batches – a small volume is enough to check stability or tolerance before you make a larger quantity.
• Cuticle and lash care – preparations where a minimal amount is used and targeted application is required.

How the set works

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a plastic closure with a thread matching the neck of the bottle. The length of the tube is adapted to the height of the bottle, so the contents can be drawn up even when the level is low. When using it, hold the bottle upright, squeeze the bulb, dip the tube into the contents and release the bulb to draw up a dose. The size of a single drop depends on the density of the particular contents, so check the number of drops per dose with your own formulation.

Filling and capacity

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling. The brimful capacity, given in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which takes up part of the volume once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, never to the brim.

Good to know

• Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and leave them to dry completely.
• Glass and temperature – pour in the contents after they have cooled. A sudden temperature difference can damage the glass.
• Reuse – after thorough washing and disinfection, you can fill the bottle again. Rinse the dropper, leave it to dry and check that the bulb holds firmly and draws up the contents. If you change the formulation, it is safer to use a new dropper so that residues of the previous contents do not get into the new product.
• Other closures – the bottle fits closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters. You can find ready-made combinations of the bottle with a closure in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness of the closure with the given formulation.
• Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass waste, while the dropper combines glass, silicone and plastic, so separate the individual parts before disposal.
