Product description
Glass dropper bottle 15 ml with silver glossy dropper is a ready-made packaging and closure set for products that are dispensed drop by drop and require light protection. A brown glass bottle in the shape of a medicine vial with a nominal volume of 15 ml and a glass dropper with a silver glossy sleeve are suitable for facial serums, oil blends, essential oil blends, tinctures, or concentrated active ingredients that are diluted only at the time of use.
Brown glass reduces light penetration and thus helps slow down the oxidation of sensitive ingredients, such as unsaturated vegetable oils or vitamin serums. The dropper allows you to draw and measure a precise amount without the contents coming into contact with fingers, which is a practical advantage for small volumes and concentrated formulations. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; it is not intended for food use.
What the set offers
- Light protection for the contents – brown glass reduces the amount of light that reaches the contents and helps extend the stability of oils, serums and fragrances sensitive to oxidation.
- Precise drop-by-drop dispensing – the glass pipette tube with a bulb draws small amounts, which is useful for serums, concentrates and fragrance blends where quantity matters.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents are neither poured out nor scooped with a finger, so less contamination enters the bottle.
- Glass that does not react with the contents – glass does not react with oils, essential oils or alcohol-based solutions and does not absorb their scent, so the bottle can be reused after washing.
- Coordinated appearance – the silver glossy sleeve of the dropper in combination with brown glass creates a uniform look and suits both minimalist and darker labels.
Nominal and total volume – how to fill
Packaging distinguishes between two volume values. Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed for standard filling and which is stated on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a margin – space for the dropper tube, which submerges into the contents after screwing on and displaces some volume upward, and room for slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When filled to the neck, the dropper when screwed on will push the contents through the thread, the packaging will not seal properly and the label will get soiled.
How to use the set
The dropper consists of a glass tube, a threaded ring, an aluminium sleeve with a silver glossy surface and a silicone bulb. By squeezing the bulb while the tube is submerged and releasing it, the contents are drawn in, then dispensed by gentle squeezing. The length of the dropper is adapted to the height of the bottle, so the tube reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be drawn even at a low level.
For smaller batches, we recommend filling through a small funnel or syringe to avoid contaminating the neck thread – oil residues on the thread worsen the seal and make it harder to apply the label. After filling, tighten the dropper by hand without excessive force; the plastic thread can deform if over-tightened.
The bottle is also compatible with other closures with the same neck type specified in the parameters. For a custom combination, we recommend checking the seal and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
Suitable contents
- Facial and hair serums on both water and oil base – the small volume corresponds to typical serum usage and the dropper allows dispensing a few drops into the palm.
- Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – glass does not absorb scent and the brown colour protects sensitive ingredients; for pure essential oils, we recommend checking the behaviour of the silicone bulb during prolonged contact.
- Oil concentrates and active ingredients intended for dilution into creams and serums – precise drop dispensing makes percentage dosing easier.
- Tinctures and alcohol-based extracts for cosmetic use – alcohol does not harm glass.
- Samples and trial sizes of larger products, where the customer will appreciate the small volume and easy dispensing.
The set is not suitable for thick creams and balms – the dropper draws only liquid to mildly viscous contents. For spray application, a bottle with a spray pump is more appropriate.
Good to know
Preparation before first filling. Wash the bottle and dropper before use, rinse with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely with the neck facing down. Residual water in an oil-based product can cause cloudiness or encourage microbial growth, so allow the parts to dry for long enough.
Reuse. The glass bottle can be refilled after thorough washing. Disassemble the dropper into the tube and bulb, wash separately and check that the bulb has not softened or cracked – a worn bulb does not seal and draws poorly. When changing product, pay attention to fragrance residues in the bulb, which are harder to remove from silicone than from glass.
Labelling. The cylindrical shape of the vial allows for a standard wrap-around label. Before applying, degrease the glass surface, otherwise the label on oil-based products will peel off over time.
Glass and heat. Do not fill the bottle with hot contents directly from a water bath and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes – glass can withstand standard handling temperatures, but a sudden difference can damage it. Allow the contents to cool to at least room temperature before filling.
If you are filling a serum with an aqueous phase, bear in mind that air in the bulb and tube enters the contents with each use. Leave-on aqueous products therefore require reliable preservation even at small volumes.
Recycling. The glass bottle can be sorted into glass waste after emptying and rinsing. The dropper is a combination of glass, plastic, aluminium and silicone, so before disposal separate the glass tube from the rest of the closure.
