The green glass bottle with a glossy black dropper represents an aesthetic and practical packaging for products where precise, drop-by-drop application is important. High-quality glass in combination with the dropper ensures controlled dosing, minimal waste and comfortable use in everyday skincare routines. The dark glass also helps to limit light transmission, thereby contributing to better stability of sensitive components in cosmetic and other formulations.
Glass bottles of this type are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters in the category. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, correct dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation, in order to ensure the long-term functionality and safety of the product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are provided in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product specifications.
The glass vial with dropper is generally suitable for most formulations containing essential oils, since glass is a stable packaging material. However, with a high concentration of oils or specific components we recommend always preparing a trial sample, monitoring the behaviour of the product over time, and verifying the functionality of the dropper (sealing, smooth dosing, and any undesirable discolouration or odour of the packaging).
The glass packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are observed, ideally for products with a similar composition. Before each new filling, the bottle and the dropper must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol (ALK001) or Ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based (ALK002). This minimises the risk of microbial contamination as well as unwanted mixing of fragrances or active substances.
After emptying the packaging, we recommend first mechanically removing any product residues, then rinsing the bottle with a suitable detergent solution and warm water. After thoroughly rinsing with clean water, it is advisable to include a disinfection step – filling or rinsing the packaging with a disinfecting alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. We recommend disinfecting the dropper by immersing it in a disinfectant solution and allowing it to dry thoroughly on a clean, uncontaminated surface before further use.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend disposing of it by recycling according to the type of material specified in the product specifications. The glass part of the bottle can usually be placed, after removing any residual contents, into the container intended for glass. The closure with dropper is a combination of several materials (plastic, rubber, possibly metal), so you should, where possible, separate it into individual components and sort them in accordance with local recycling rules. Always rinse the packaging partially before recycling so that no significant product residues remain inside.
The simplest way to choose is to use the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on a specific category (for example glass bottles, vials, plastic packaging), you will find, at the top of the page, an option to filter according to several parameters. You can select the type and diameter of the neck, the size of the packaging, the colour of the material, as well as the material itself (glass, plastic, etc.). In this way you will quickly find packaging that will match your formulation, the desired dosing method and the visual style of your brand.
