Crackling wooden wick is specially designed for the production of natural candles, where it creates a characteristic crackling effect reminiscent of burning in a fireplace. Thanks to its stable shape and reliable burning, it is suitable for candles made from various waxes, while ensuring smooth combustion and even melting of the wax. This packaging component is ideal for artisanal and semi-professional candle production, where the aesthetic impression, functionality and sensory experience during burning are important.
When choosing a container for a candle with a wooden wick, we recommend selecting a stable vial, jar, pot or tin with sufficient internal width so that the flame has space around it and the wax melts evenly. The container should withstand heat, have a flat bottom, and during the first testing it is appropriate to observe the flame height, burning rate and the formation of the wax pool. For larger container diameters it is often necessary to adjust the wick type, the wax formulation or create a test series.
The crackling wooden wick can be used with various kinds of waxes (for example soy, vegetable or paraffin blends), but it is always necessary to perform your own burn tests. Different wax recipes, added fragrances and colourants influence the flame behaviour, burning rate and the size of the wax pool. Before final production we recommend creating several test candles and, for each combination of wax and container, observing flame stability and uniform burning.
The container in which there was a candle with a wooden wick can be reused, provided that hygiene principles are observed, for example for a new candle or as packaging for other products. Before refilling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the container from wax residues and impurities and then disinfect it with a suitable product, for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. Disinfection is especially important if you want to use the container for cosmetic products or other contents coming into contact with the skin.
If you decide not to use the container and related packaging further after the candle has burned out, we recommend recycling them according to the material type listed in the parameters of the specific product on the site. Glass vials, pharmaceutical bottles or candle jars are usually sorted into the glass container, metal tins into metal waste and plastic packaging into the appropriate plastic fraction. Before recycling, it is advisable to remove wax residues and components that do not belong in the given sorted waste stream (for example the wick base or any label), so that recycling is as effective as possible.
To make it easier to find a suitable container for candles, cosmetics or other products, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging categories. The advanced filter is located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected category and allows packaging to be filtered according to several parameters – for example according to neck type, size, colour or material. Thanks to this, you can quickly choose a vial, pot, tin or other container that will best correspond to your formulation, design and intended method of use.
