The wooden wick represents a natural and design-oriented alternative to classic cotton wicks, suitable for the production of decorative candles in various types of containers – from glass jars to original tins and pots. The stable construction of the wick ensures even burning and is ideal for candle makers who are looking for a reliable and aesthetic solution for their products.
Thanks to the solid structure of the wood and suitable processing, this wick is optimized for use in combination with waxes of various origins. It enables smooth, stable burning, thereby supporting high-quality ignition of the candle and controlled release of fragrances. It is suitable for candles in packaging as well as free-poured candles, provided the diameter of the container and the wax blend are chosen correctly.
The choice of wooden wick must always be adapted to the diameter of the container and the type of wax. It is recommended to prepare a test candle in the same jar or pot in which you plan serial production and to test burning from the first lighting until most of the wax has burned out. Observe whether the flame is not too weak (tunnelling) or too strong (excessive smoking). If necessary, adjust the width of the wick or the composition of the wax blend until you achieve stable and safe burning.
Yes, the wooden wick can be used with different types of waxes, such as natural, plant-based or blended waxes. However, each wax has a different viscosity and burning rate, so it is always necessary to carry out your own test in the specific bottle, jar or pot in which you plan to produce the candles. It is recommended to test also the differences between pure wax and wax with added colours or fragrance components.
For candles with a wooden wick it is advisable to keep the wick at an appropriate length. Before relighting, you can carefully remove loose or excessively long charred parts so that the flame remains stable and does not smoke. Always use candles in a stable container and on a non-flammable surface, away from draughts and out of the reach of children and pets. This will support safe burning and even melting of the wax in the container.
Packaging in which candles with a wooden wick were originally poured can be reused, provided that hygiene principles are observed, for example for new candles or as practical jars and pots for other products. Before each new use, the container must be thoroughly cleaned of wax residues and impurities and then disinfected with a suitable disinfectant, for example using isopropyl alcohol in cosmetic grade (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ target="_blank") or denatured ethanol of plant origin (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/ target="_blank"). Only after thorough cleaning and disinfection is the packaging ready for further safe use.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging after the candle has burned out, it is advisable to recycle it in accordance with the type of material specified in the product parameters for the particular bottle, jar or pot. Always remove wax residues and the wick base from the container, so that they do not interfere with sorting. Glass containers belong in the glass container, plastic packaging in the container intended for plastics and metal components according to the local sorting system. By following the recommendations in the parameter table on the product page, you will contribute to correct recycling and responsible handling of packaging material.
To select suitable packaging for candles, cosmetics or other products, you can use the extended filter located in the upper part of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. Within the filter, you can easily combine multiple criteria – for example the type and size of the neck, the required container size, colour and material. By narrowing down the selection according to these parameters, you will quickly find bottles, jars, pots or other packaging that will best correspond to your product and to the technical requirements for filling and use.
