The glass bottle is generally very well tolerated by formulations containing alcohol as well as essential oils, since glass is a chemically stable and inert material. For higher alcohol concentrations or intense aromatic blends, we recommend always testing not only the glass itself but also the spray pump – especially the sealing and dip tube – by filling on a trial basis over a longer period, in order to verify dosing reliability and tightness under real storage conditions.

The packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are followed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle and spray pump, rinse them and then disinfect them with a suitable alcohol‑based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant‑based. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely in a clean, dust‑free place to minimize the risk of microbial contamination of the new batch of product.

Spray pumps are most suitable for low‑viscosity, water‑based or easily flowing formulations. Thicker emulsions or gels may reduce dosing comfort or make spraying completely impossible. Before introducing the product into serial production, we therefore recommend preparing a trial batch, filling the bottle and testing over a longer period the spraying function, the evenness of distribution and spring return. If dosing is irregular or clogged, it is advisable to reduce the viscosity of the formula or choose a different type of closure or pump.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is advisable to recycle it according to the material type specified in the product parameters. The glass bottle can usually be placed, after emptying and basic cleaning of product residues, into a container intended for glass. The plastic spray pump must be separated from the glass part and sorted according to the recommendations of the local waste collection system. Before handing over for recycling, we recommend removing any remaining contents to prevent contamination of other sorted material.
