The glass bottle with dropper is a professional and aesthetic packaging for cosmetic as well as laboratory preparations, enabling precise and hygienic dosing of drops. Thanks to the high-quality glass and functional dropper, it is ideal for filling liquid products where control over the amount is important – from serums and oils to concentrated solutions and blends. The dark glass provides increased protection for light-sensitive components, helping to maintain the stability and quality of the stored contents throughout the entire period of use.
Glass bottles without an integrated closure are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing options (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters in the product details. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation, especially for products with a higher content of alcohol, acids or essential oils.
All technical parameters of the packaging are stated in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Glass packaging is generally a suitable choice for formulations containing essential oils, since glass is a stable and chemically resistant material. However, it is always recommended to perform your own compatibility test – fill a small amount of product, observe any changes on the dropper or the seal and check whether dosing proceeds smoothly. For higher concentrations of essential oils it is appropriate to check the stability of the product over a longer storage period.
The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and rinsing the bottle and the closure, and then disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. In the Handymade range you will find, for example, the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based, which are available in the category of raw materials and disinfectant auxiliary materials. After disinfection, allow the packaging to dry completely so that no liquid residues remain in it before filling with the final product.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if you follow proper hygiene procedures and thoroughly clean it between individual uses. Before each new filling, the packaging must be carefully washed, residues of the previous product removed and then disinfected with an alcohol-based preparation in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. It is advisable to use disinfectant alcohols from the Handymade range, which are intended for cleaning packaging and tools. When switching to a completely different type of product (for example from an oil-based to a water-based one) we recommend considering the use of a new bottle, especially in the case of professional or commercial production.
On the Handymade website you can use the advanced filter located in the upper part of the page after clicking on a specific category of packaging material. With it, you can easily choose suitable packaging according to several parameters – you can filter, for example, by type of neck, size, colour and material. The advanced filter enables you to quickly find bottles, jars, medicine bottles or containers that will meet your requirements for volume and compatibility with closures or dispensers.
To preserve the quality of the contents, it is advisable to store the bottle in a dry and cooler place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Always close the bottle carefully to minimise the contact of the contents with air and to prevent evaporation of volatile components. For sensitive formulations, such as active serums or blends with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend also ensuring protection against frequent temperature fluctuations, which can affect the stability of the components.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules. After emptying and rinsing, place the glass bottle in the container designated for glass. Sort the closure, dropper or rubber and plastic parts according to the type of material indicated for the product in the parameter table – they usually belong in the container for plastics or in mixed waste if they are not recyclable. Before placing it in sorted waste, it is advisable to remove larger residues of product from the packaging to facilitate the recycling process.
