TAED, or also Tetraacetylethylenediamine is a washing activator.

These granules of white colour are added in a quantity of about 5% to sodium percarbonate and release peroxide from it already at low temperatures, from about 30°C.
It was first used commercially in 1978 and has since become a major bleaching agent in Europe. It is completely biodegradable.
It is water soluble: 0.2 g/L @ 20 °C.
