FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this bottle be reused for different products?

The packaging can be reused provided that you follow basic hygiene principles and use the bottle for compatible types of products. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with a suitable agent, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol: /ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/, /etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/. This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination and undesirable interaction of residues of the previous product with the new formulation.

How should the spray pump be properly cleaned and disinfected so that the dosing remains functional?

We recommend first rinsing the spray pump with lukewarm water to remove residues of the previous product and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol solution (e.g. IPA or ethanol). You can pump the alcohol through the spray pump so that it passes through the entire dosing mechanism. After disinfection, allow the individual parts to dry completely at room temperature. Boiling or cleaning at very high temperatures is not recommended in order to avoid damaging the plastic components and seals.

Is this type of packaging suitable for travelling and carrying in a handbag or luggage?

Yes, the plastic bottle with spray pump is suitable for travelling thanks to its low weight and resistance to breakage. Before carrying it, we recommend checking that the spray pump is tightened correctly and placing it in a separate container or resealable bag during transport to minimise the risk of leakage in the event of accidental pressing of the pump or pressure changes during transport.

How can this packaging be safely disposed of and recycled if I do not want to reuse it?

If you decide not to use the packaging any further, we recommend primarily recycling it according to the material type listed in the product parameter table on the Handymade.sk website. Before handing it over for separate collection, remove any product residues, rinse the bottle and – where possible – separate the individual parts (container, spray pump, any separate components) according to the material used. In this way you will contribute to efficient waste processing and a reduction of environmental burden.
