Glass packaging is generally very stable even with formulations containing alcohol, preservatives or common cosmetic actives. For each new product, however, we recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – fill the bottle with a smaller amount of the product, verify the functionality of the spray pump, the sealing, and monitor the stability of the contents over time. In the case of specific or highly reactive components, it is advisable to perform longer-term storage tests.

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly rinsing the bottle and the spray pump, mechanically cleaning the glass part and then disinfecting the entire system with a suitable alcohol solution. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After thorough drying, you can safely refill the bottle with your own product.

The functionality of the spray pump depends on the viscosity and composition of the liquid. It works best with low-viscosity aqueous solutions, hydrolats and light lotion sprays. With thicker emulsions, the spray may be less uniform or the flow rate may change. Before series filling, we recommend preparing a small test batch, filling the bottle, testing the spray pattern, back suction and checking that the nozzle is not becoming clogged. If necessary, adjust the formulation (dilution, type of emulsifiers) so that it is compatible with the given type of spray pump.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules. After emptying and basic rinsing, place the glass bottle in the glass waste according to the instructions of your municipality. The spray pump with plastic and metal parts usually needs to be separated from the glass and placed in mixed waste or the appropriate plastic waste according to the local collection system. In the case of specific material markings, follow the information given in the product parameters and the local recommendations for recycling.
