Product description

Aluminium bottle with white and silver pump, 50 ml

Ready-made set for small packs of liquid and cream products: an aluminium bottle with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a plastic pump with a white body and silver overcap, both parts with a 24/410 neck finish. The pump dispenses roughly the same amount with each press, so there is no need to pour out the contents or scoop them with a finger. Aluminium does not let light through and does not break when dropped. The set is therefore suitable for products that are carried in a bag, taken on trips or kept by the sink.

Fifty millilitres is enough for a facial serum, a body lotion for your handbag, a liquid hand soap in travel size, a light cream or samples for customers. A small pack is used up quickly, and the pump limits contact of the contents with air and hands during use.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial and hair serums – a liquid to slightly thickened consistency passes through the pump without problems. One press dispenses approximately 1 ml, which corresponds to a usual amount for a single use.
  • Light creams and lotions – emulsions with low to medium viscosity dispense cleanly, while thick creams pass through less easily.
  • Liquid soaps and cleansing gels – in a travel size for the sink or a guest bathroom.
  • Samples and test batches – a small pack to hand out to customers or for your own stability test in packaging that already looks like a finished product.
  • Light-sensitive products – the opaque wall of the bottle protects the contents from daylight.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 50 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and you can find it in the parameters. The difference between the two values forms a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle up to the nominal volume. If it were filled to the brim, the contents would be pushed out when the pump is fitted and could seep into the thread.

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the pump, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Moisture trapped in the tube or in the thread would otherwise mix with the first dose of the product.

Good to know

The aluminium bottle is declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products. No such declaration is available for the plastic pump, so the set as a whole is not declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. Before selling a finished product in this set, we recommend checking the behaviour of the pump with your specific formulation: tightness during storage, cleanliness of the dose after a longer break and any changes in the scent or colour of the contents.

The tube draws the product from the bottom of the bottle, so the last few millilitres cannot be dispensed through the pump. When using it for the first time, press the pump several times until the tube fills and starts to deliver a full dose. Products with solid particles, for example scrubs or grainy masks, will clog the mechanism and are not suitable for this set.

The set can be reused. Wash the bottle with warm water and a cleaning product and disinfect it. Rinse the pump by immersing the tube in warm water and pumping several times until clean water runs out. Oil residues in the mechanism are harder to remove, so when you change the type of product, it is better to fit a new pump.

The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. You can find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we always recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

The bottle belongs in metal recycling. The pump is made of plastic and aluminium, so unscrew it and hand it in separately before disposal.

We do not specify any food use for this set. Neither the bottle nor the pump has a certificate for contact with food, and the set is intended for cosmetic and technical use.

Frequently asked questions

Does the aluminium bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the wall of the aluminium bottle is completely opaque and no light passes through it. It is therefore suitable for serums with vitamins, plant extracts or essential oils, which lose their effect or change colour more quickly in light. Compared with amber or blue glass, it is lighter and does not break when dropped.
How much product fits into a 50 ml aluminium bottle with a pump?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 50 ml. The total brimful volume is larger and you can find it in the parameters, but the difference serves as a reserve for the pump tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If it were filled to the brim, the product would be pushed into the thread when the pump is fitted and the packaging might not seal.
Can the aluminium bottle with a pump be used for thick creams?
Only partly. The pump is designed for liquid to slightly thickened products: serums, lotions and light creams. With thick creams, butters or products with solid particles, the pump either fails to draw them in or delivers only an incomplete dose and clogs over time. For thicker textures, packaging with a cap or a jar is more suitable.
Is the aluminium bottle with a pump suitable for an oil serum?
Yes, liquid oil serums pass through the pump without problems and the opaque bottle protects them from light. When you change the product, however, it is difficult to remove all the oil residues from the pump, so when switching to a different type of formulation we recommend replacing the pump with a new one. We recommend checking the behaviour of your specific oil with the packaging in a trial batch.
Can a closure other than the supplied pump be used with the 24/410 aluminium bottle?
Yes, the bottle has a standard 24/410 neck finish, which fits closures with the same thread type. When fitting a different closure, for example a cap or a sprayer, we recommend checking the tightness of the combination with your specific formulation. You can find ready-made combinations of the bottle with various closures in the Handymade range.
