Glass bottle with flat top is a universal container suitable for professional as well as artisan packaging of various liquid and partially viscous formulations. High-quality clear glass allows clear control of the contents and is a stable choice for cosmetic, pharmaceutical and technical solutions where purity, compatibility and a representative appearance of the product are important. Thanks to the precise processing of the neck and the flat surface of the top, this bottle is suitable for reliable closing and dispensing in home production as well as professional production in small batches.
Individual glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the parameters selected when ordering. Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test – verifying sealing, dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation, especially for products containing alcohol, essential oils or acids.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the glass bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected, ideally using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol (for example products available on Handymade: IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). This minimizes the risk of microbial contamination and undesirable changes in the properties of the new product.
Before reuse, we recommend first mechanically cleaning the bottle – thoroughly rinsing it with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, removing residues of the original product and any deposits. The container must then be rinsed with clean water, allowed to dry and disinfected with an alcoholic solution (for example the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). Allow the disinfectant to act briefly, pour out the excess and let the bottle dry at room temperature.
If you decide not to use the bottle further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules. The glass container normally belongs in the container designated for glass. Before recycling, remove product residues, any labels and separate the closure or dispensing element (these are sorted according to material – usually plastic or metal). The exact method of sorting may differ by municipality, so it is advisable to check local recommendations, with the basic principle being to sort glass separately from other materials.
On Handymade, when choosing suitable packaging you can use the advanced filter located in the upper part of the page after clicking on a specific packaging material category. Within the filter, products can be sorted by neck type, size, colour and material, which makes it easy to find a bottle or other container exactly according to the requirements of your formulation and design. We recommend combining several parameters at once so that you can quickly narrow down the selection to only relevant packaging.
Glass is in general a very stable and inert material which performs well even with products containing essential oils, alcohol or active ingredients. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol, however, it is important to pay attention to the closure or dispenser used, as not all plastics are fully compatible with such contents. Therefore, we recommend carrying out a trial filling and a short-term stability test, during which you verify the sealing, dosing and behaviour of the bottle–closure combination.
When filling, we recommend working in the cleanest environment possible, using suitable funnels or filling aids and avoiding impacts on the bottle neck to prevent damage to the glass. The container should always be cleaned and disinfected before filling, for example using alcoholic disinfectants available on Handymade. When storing, keep the bottles in a dry place, protected from significant temperature fluctuations and direct sunlight, in order to preserve the stability and quality of the final product as well as of the packaging itself.
