Can this glass bottle with dropper be used repeatedly?

Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, however, the bottle and the dropper must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to minimise the risk of microbial contamination and product degradation. For disinfection of the packaging, we recommend using high-percentage alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol – in the Handymade range you will find suitable products such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based.

For which type of products is the dropper bottle most suitable?

This type of packaging is ideal for concentrated products that are dosed in small quantities – for example facial serums, oil elixirs, blends of vegetable and essential oils, intensive nail treatments or locally applied treatment products. Thanks to the dropper, you can dose the contents precisely drop by drop, which is advantageous for highly effective formulations or more expensive active ingredients.

How should I properly clean the bottle and dropper before re-use?

First remove any residues of the original contents by rinsing with a suitable medium (for example, a small amount of oil for oil blends or water with a gentle cleaning agent for water-based formulations). Then thoroughly rinse the bottle and the glass part of the dropper with clean water and allow them to dry completely. Before new filling, the packaging including the dropper must be disinfected – alcohol-based solutions are suitable, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, and then allow the packaging to dry at room temperature.

How can I correctly recycle the glass bottle if I do not wish to use it further?

If you decide not to re-use the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle is generally placed in separate glass collection after removal of residual contents and labels. The dropper head and any seals should be sorted according to the material (plastic or composite material) in line with local waste sorting rules. Before handing it over for collection, rinse the packaging so that no product residues remain which could compromise the recycling stream.
