Blue Glass Bottle, White Tamper Evident Safety Cap & Dropper, 15 ml

The blue glass bottle with a volume of 15 ml, a long plastic dropper insert and a white ribbed safety cap is a ready-made set for contents that are dispensed by the drop and are sensitive to light. Blue glass reduces the amount of light that gets through, so it suits essential oils, aromatherapy blends, concentrated facial oil serums, nail oils and tinctures. The dropper insert releases exactly as much from the bottle as your recipe or application requires.

A small volume works well where the contents are used up slowly and a larger pack would stand open for no reason. The bottle and the cap have the same thread, all three parts are matched, and there is nothing else to buy.

How the set works

• Glass bottle, medicine bottle – a shape with a narrow neck and an 18/410 neck finish. Glass does not react with oils or alcohol.
• Long dropper insert – a clear polypropylene part that is pressed into the neck of the bottle. When tilted, it releases the contents drop by drop, without spilling and without your fingers touching the contents.
• Safety cap – a white polyethylene cap with ribbing that gives a secure grip even when your hands are oily.

The dropper insert and the cap have a declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products. No such declaration is available for the blue glass bottle on its own.

What it is suitable for

Dispensing by the drop makes sense for contents that are used in small amounts: pure essential oils and their blends for a diffuser, bases for roll-on bottles before dilution, oil serums with a higher proportion of active ingredients, cuticle oils, herbal tinctures or fragrance samples. Thin and medium-thick liquids flow smoothly through the dropper insert. Thick oils and balms drip slowly and are better suited to a different type of packaging.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 15 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for with normal filling. The brimful capacity given in the parameters is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck. The difference between the two leaves room for the dropper insert and for the contents to expand when the temperature changes.

When filling small volumes, a funnel or a syringe works well. The dropper insert is fitted only after filling, not before.

Good to know

Glass tolerates heat, but not a sudden change in temperature. Let the hot oil phase cool down before filling, as cold glass may crack. The dropper insert and the cap are made of plastic. With long-term contact with concentrated essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking that they do not change shape and that the set continues to seal.

After washing, the bottle can be used repeatedly. The dropper insert has a narrow channel that is difficult to clean, so when you change the contents it is better to replace it with a new one. At the end of its life, the glass goes into glass recycling and the plastic parts into plastic recycling, so separate them before disposal.
