A small blue glass bottle with a capacity of 15 ml and a white nasal spray pump together form a ready-to-use set for water-based preparations dispensed as a fine mist. Both the bottle and the pump share the same neck size, so the set screws together without searching for a compatible cap. Suitable for homemade saline solutions, hydrosol sprays, refreshing and moisturising sprays or travel-size toner samples.

The blue glass has a practical purpose. It reduces light exposure, slowing down changes in light-sensitive contents such as hydrosols or solutions with plant extracts. Glass does not react with the contents and does not absorb odours, so the bottle can be reused after washing.

How the set works

• Metered dose – each press of the pump releases the same small amount of content (exact dose value is listed in the specifications). Dosing is repeatable and the contents are used up slowly.
• Fine mist – the pump creates a dispersed spray, not a drop or a continuous stream. It is designed for thin, water-based contents.
• Shaped nozzle – the pump nozzle is designed for nasal application.
• Dip tube to the bottom – the pump draws the content through a dip tube that reaches the bottom of the bottle, so it uses up the contents almost completely.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended to be filled to under normal conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the pump dip tube and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow once the pump is screwed on and some of the contents will remain in the thread.

Suitability for cosmetics and food

The pump has confirmed suitability for use with cosmetic products according to the technical documentation. No such declaration is available for the glass bottle, so the set as a whole is not listed as declared for contact with cosmetics. For your own formulation, we recommend verifying compatibility of the contents with both components directly in the finished formula.

The set is not approved for food contact. It is not intended for homemade syrups, oils or extracts for consumption.

What is worth knowing

• Preparation before filling – wash both the bottle and the pump, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water would dilute the contents and reduce their stability.
• Preservation of the contents – water-based preparations without a preservative are not protected against microbial contamination in this type of packaging. For hydrosols and solutions intended for extended use, allow for appropriate preservation or a short shelf life.
• Pump materials – the mechanism contains plastic parts and a steel spring. With alcohol-based contents, saline solutions and preparations containing essential oils, check whether dosing changes over time.
• Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes.
• Labelling – the label area is small.
• Recycling – the glass bottle goes into glass waste. The pump is composed of several materials and is sorted separately.
