Plastic cap with dropper insert and safety ring is a practical closure for precise dosing of liquid preparations into smaller cosmetic and laboratory containers. The integrated dropper insert enables convenient and controlled dripping, while the safety ring increases safety at first opening and helps protect the contents from unwanted handling.
This type of closure is suitable for filling various liquid formulations – from cosmetic serums, oils and essential oils to technical solutions where precise drop-by-drop dosing is required. Thanks to reliable sealing, the packaging helps minimize liquid leakage and contributes to the long-term stability of the product.
This product is a standalone closure with dropper insert designed for compatible bottles and vials. When selecting a suitable combination, it is important to match the neck type and overall dosing concept to the character of the formulation. On the website you will also find other types of closures and dispensing components that you can use for other projects – for example screw caps, sprayers or pumps for other containers and jars.
Packaging and closure combinations that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure of reliable use for your particular product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Before fitting, check the cleanliness and dryness of the bottle neck as well as the internal parts of the cap. Screw on the cap with dropper insert in a smooth motion until you feel a distinct tightening. Do not use excessive force when tightening so as not to damage the thread or the dropper insert. After closing, briefly invert the bottle and check whether the contents are escaping around the thread – this way you practically verify correct sealing of the packaging.
The cap with dropper insert can be reused in home or craft production of cosmetics and other liquid products, provided that you follow basic hygiene rules. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean and disinfect the packaging thoroughly in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination of the prepared product. For disinfection you can use, for example, isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 %, which are suitable for sanitizing a clean and dry container before filling.
The functionality of the dropper depends on the viscosity and surface tension of the formulation. For smooth dripping, low-viscosity oils, serums or solutions are usually the most suitable. For products that are too thick or gel-like, dripping can be slow or irregular. We recommend carrying out a trial filling in a small amount and, if necessary, adjusting the ratio of oil and water phase or the amount of thickeners in order to achieve satisfactory dosing with the specific type of dropper.
After the contents have been used up, it is advisable first to rinse the cap with warm water and a mild cleaning agent to remove residues of the original formulation. Then allow it to dry thoroughly and, before reuse, disinfect it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation – for example IPA 99 % or Ethanol 96 %. Perform disinfection on a clean and dry surface in order to minimize the risk of diluting the alcohol and to ensure a sufficient disinfecting effect.
To choose a suitable bottle, vial or jar, you can use the advanced filter, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging material category. Using the filter, you can conveniently narrow down the range according to parameters that are key for your product – especially according to the type of neck, required size, colour and material of the packaging. This way you will quickly find a compatible combination of bottle and cap with dropper insert exactly according to your intention.
If you decide not to use the cap with dropper insert any further, we recommend that, after emptying and basic cleaning, you place it in sorted waste according to the type of plastic stated in the parameter table at the product on the Handymade website. Before discarding, remove product residues from inside the dropper insert and from the thread in order to reduce the burden on the sorting line and subsequent processing. If you are not sure about local sorting rules, follow the recommendations of your local waste collection system, and in general it applies that clean and sorted plastic packaging has the best chance of effective recycling.
