Candle waxes: from soy to palm

The range of 77 items covers soy, rapeseed, coconut, sunflower, palm, paraffin and gel waxes, pearlescent KeraSnow and stearin. Pack sizes run from 1 kg samples to 20 – 25 kg packs for larger workshops. The wax you choose affects the smoothness of the surface, the release of the fragrance and the stability of the flame — the types differ in hardness, shrinkage, adhesion to glass and compatibility with fragrances and colourants.

Container waxes

For candles in glass, reach for the container types: soy KeraSoy container 4130 and EcoSoya CB-Advanced; the range also holds EcoSoya CB-135, NatureWax C-3, KeraGreen (the sunflower version included), the rapeseed-wax blend Kerawax 4170 and coconut EcoCoco or Kerawax Coconut Container 4135. They adhere well to glass, form a smooth surface and give a good scent throw once cooled.

Waxes for pillar and moulded candles

The harder pillar waxes — soy KeraSoy pillar 4120, EcoSoya pillar blend and KeraGreen pillar, or rapeseed 9562 Pillar — come out of the mould easily once cooled and hold a steady shape. Palm waxes BW C07 and BW C09 also create the characteristic crystalline "ice" pattern on the surface and stand out for their long burning time.

Waxes for wax melts

The harder Ecosoya melt and Golden Wax 494 waxes are optimised for releasing fragrance without a wick — they melt in an aroma lamp. Moulds for casting are in the wax melts category.

Specialities and additives

The range is completed by gel wax, white pearlescent KeraSnow wax, "KeraGreen, sunflower wax", massage soy wax KeraSoy massage, paraffin Kerawax 485 and stearin. Hardeners and additive waxes are added in small amounts to your own blends to increase hardness and gloss.

Tips for a good result

  • Temperatures: keep to the melting, stirring and pouring temperatures recommended by the wax manufacturer.
  • Fragrance: add it to the melted wax and stir for at least 1 – 2 minutes.
  • Wick: test it according to the candle diameter and the amount of pigment and fragrance — you can choose in the candle wicks category.
  • Cooling: even and out of any draught — it keeps frosting on soy waxes to a minimum.
  • Curing: let the candles rest for at least 48 – 72 hours before a burn test.

Alongside the waxes we also recommend candle colourants. If you are unsure about the choice, write to us at [email protected] — we will help with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Which wax is best for container candles?

The container types give the best results — soy KeraSoy container 4130 or EcoSoya CB-Advanced, for example. They adhere to glass very well and leave a smooth surface.

Which wax should I use for pillar candles?

Free-standing candles call for the harder pillar waxes such as KeraSoy pillar 4120, EcoSoya pillar blend or palm BW C09. They hold a firm shape and release easily from the mould.

How can I improve the fragrance release from a candle?

Keep to the recommended stirring temperature, let the candle cure for at least 48 hours and use compatible fragrance blends. If the flame is weak, choose a larger wick.

What causes frosting on soy candles?

Frosting is the natural crystallisation of soy wax. A steady pouring temperature, slow and even cooling out of any draught and gently warming the surface after pouring all keep it to a minimum.
