Use in practice

The dispenser works reliably with thin liquids: aqueous solutions, hydrolats, alcoholic and hydroalcoholic mixtures, and light tinctures. Thick contents, gels, and pure vegetable oils do not disperse well through the fine nozzle, the dispenser becomes clogged, and the stream is irregular. If the formulation contains an oil component, it is recommended to work with a solubiliser and keep the viscosity close to that of water.

Before first use, the dispenser must be primed: a few presses will fill the tube and stabilise the stream. The dispenser tube is longer than the height of the bottle. Before assembling, cut it at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. This allows the bottle to be emptied almost without residue and the tube does not twist.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is intended for normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is higher. The difference between them is the reserve for the dispenser tube and for the air above the liquid level, which the dispenser needs to function properly. It is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow when the dispenser is screwed on, or the stream will initially spray unevenly. Good to know

• Preparation before filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Rinse the dispenser with clean water and prime it several times so that no water remains inside.
• Light – clear glass provides no protection against light. Store products containing essential oils, plant extracts, or coloured ingredients away from direct sunlight, or choose darker glass from the range.
• Reuse – the glass can be washed and refilled without any problems. After each cycle, rinse the dispenser with warm water and prime it. If the nozzle becomes blocked or the dispenser starts drawing in air, replace it.
• Label – the cylindrical shape provides space for a simple wrap-around label. The bottle dimensions are in the parameters.
• Other closures – the bottle has a standard neck type stated in the parameters, so it can also be combined with other closures with the same neck from the Handymade range. When using your own combination, verify the seal, dispensing, and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
• Recycling – before disposal, separate the plastic dispenser from the glass bottle; each material belongs in a different category of sorted waste.
