Product description
Glass bottle, green, throat spray, 100 ml
A glass bottle with a throat spray is a complete packaging and dispenser set for targeted application of a small amount of liquid preparation. The long narrow nozzle of the dispenser delivers a fine mist to areas that are difficult to reach with a regular sprayer – to hair roots, the scalp, or a small area of skin. The bottle shape resembles a medicine vial and is made of green glass, which blocks part of the light and helps protect light-sensitive contents.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, and is therefore intended for cosmetic preparations.
Key properties
- Targeted application – the narrow extended nozzle directs the mist precisely, for example to hair roots, the scalp under hair, or a small area of skin.
- Small, repeatable dose – one press releases approximately 0.1 ml, allowing economical dosing of more concentrated preparations without overflow.
- Green glass – blocks part of the light radiation, making it suitable for contents that might change colour or scent in light. It does not guarantee full protection from light, however.
- Glass with no interaction with contents – does not react with alcohol, hydrolates or essential oils, making it suitable for alcoholic or aromatic preparations where plastic may not be appropriate.
- Polypropylene dispenser – the plastic parts of the dispenser are made from PP, commonly used for cosmetic dispensing heads.
What the set is suitable for
Thanks to the fine mist and small dose, it is suitable especially for thin liquid preparations:
- hair tonics and scalp serums that need to reach under the hair directly to the roots,
- refreshing and soothing mists for smaller areas of skin,
- alcohol tinctures and herbal preparations for local treatment,
- hydrolates and tonics intended for precise application without spraying to the surroundings,
- aromatic alcohol sprays, where the green glass helps maintain the stability of the scent.
For thick serums, oil mixtures or emulsions, the set is not suitable – the dispenser is designed for watery and alcoholic liquids.
Working with the packaging
When filling, distinguish between the nominal volume and the total volume to the rim. The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for during standard filling. The total volume is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them creates a reserve for the straw and the dispenser mechanism and for the expansion of contents when the temperature changes. It is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim – otherwise, when screwing on the dispenser, the contents will be pushed out through the neck.
The dispenser straw reaches all the way to the bottom of the bottle. If after screwing it on it rests against the bottom and bends, trim it with a diagonal cut – the diagonal end will not suction to the bottom and the dispenser will draw up almost all of the contents.
Before first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and leave it to dry completely. Flush the dispenser with clean water and empty it with a few presses. After filling, attach the dispenser straight and tighten by hand. The first two to three presses serve to fill the straw and mechanism.
The dispenser sprays reliably only with thin liquids. With thicker preparations, thickened tonics or mixtures with a higher oil content, the spray changes to a stream or the dispenser stops drawing. Always test the behaviour of a specific formulation with a trial fill.
What is worth knowing
- Contents with particles – the narrow nozzle easily clogs with sediment, plant residues or undissolved powder. Filter preparations before filling.
- Essential oils and alcohol – glass withstands them without limitation. With a PP dispenser, at high concentrations of essential oils or solvents, it is advisable to check after a few weeks that the seal and mechanism function without change.
- Repeated use – the bottle can be washed and used again. Rinse the dispenser with warm water and leave to dry. If it was used with aromatic contents, the scent may remain in the plastic.
- Heat – do not fill the glass with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes, it may crack. Hot contents do not belong in the dispenser either.
- Labelling – the cylindrical medicine vial shape allows a label to be applied around the circumference.
- Other closures – closures with the same type of neck and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend testing the seal and dosing with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – glass goes into glass collection, the dispenser is made of polypropylene and is sorted as plastic. Separate them before disposal.
