The glass roll-on bottle is a practical packaging suitable for targeted application of various liquid and emulsion formulations directly onto the skin. Thanks to the robust glass, it is suitable for filling products that require a stable environment, protection against external influences and easy, precise dosing. The darker glass at the same time helps protect more sensitive components from the effects of light, which contributes to longer stability of the formulas. The bottle is popular for producing natural cosmetics, aromatherapeutic blends and individually mixed products.
Before the first filling, we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle (rinsing with a suitable cleaning agent followed by thorough rinsing with water) and then disinfecting it. For disinfection, it is appropriate to use alcohol solutions, for example isopropyl alcohol or denatured plant ethanol. After disinfection, allow the packaging to dry thoroughly at room temperature so that no water residues remain that could affect the stability of the contents.
Yes, the glass packaging can be reused provided that hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be disassembled (remove the roll-on mechanism and the closure), thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based product, for example isopropyl alcohol or denatured plant ethanol. Disinfection helps minimise microbiological risks and reduces the likelihood of deterioration of the new filling.
Always fill the bottle up to the marked maximum level, or leave a small headspace below the neck so that the roll-on mechanism does not push out part of the contents when attached. After filling, fit the roll-on insert by pressing firmly and evenly, check that it sits properly around the entire circumference, and only then screw on the closure. Before first use, it is advisable to gently tilt the bottle so that the roll-on ball is evenly coated with the product and smooth dosing is ensured.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material indicated in the product parameters. The glass part can be placed in the appropriate glass container after removing any product residues and separating the plastic components (closure, roll-on insert, any ball made of another material). The plastic parts must be sorted according to local rules for plastic collection. Always follow the local waste sorting system so that recycling is as effective as possible and in line with the requirements of your municipality or city.
To select a suitable bottle or other type of packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter, which you can find at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. In the advanced filter, you can conveniently filter according to parameters such as type and size of the neck, overall size of the packaging, colour or material. In this way, you can quickly narrow down only those packages that meet your technological and design requirements.
Roll-on packaging is most suitable for low- to medium-viscosity formulations such as oils, light serums, fluid emulsions or perfume blends. Too thick creamy textures can restrict the smooth rotation of the ball and impair dosing. When developing the product, we recommend testing the selected formula directly in the specific bottle to verify whether the product is dispensed evenly and comfortably during normal use.
