Product description

A complete kit for drop-by-drop dispensing of oils, serums and tinctures: a brown glass bottle 50 ml, a short plastic dropper inserted into the neck, and a white smooth cap. Brown glass protects sensitive contents from light, the dropper dispenses drop by drop and prevents spilling when the bottle is turned upside down. The volume suits facial and hair oils, oil serums, essential oil blends or tinctures — products used in small doses that should last several weeks to months.

Light protection – brown glass transmits significantly less light than clear glass, which slows the oxidation of vegetable oils, essential oils and light-sensitive active ingredients.
Drop-by-drop dispensing – the dropper in the neck releases the contents drop by drop, making it easy to control the amount (for example, a few drops of oil into the palm) without spilling.
Glass that does not react with the contents – glass does not react with essential oils, alcohol or vegetable oils and does not absorb odours, making it suitable even for concentrated blends that could damage a plastic container over time.

How to use the kit

After filling, press the dropper into the bottle neck and screw on the cap. To use, simply unscrew the cap and tilt or invert the bottle. The contents flow out drop by drop without any additional tools and without the hands touching the contents. The dropper is designed for low to medium viscosity liquids: oils, oil serums, tinctures, essential oil blends and light water-based serums. The thicker the contents, the slower the dripping. The dropper will not pass thick serums, gels or creams; for these, a container with a dispensing pump or a jar is more suitable.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the rim of the neck. Space must remain above the liquid level for the dropper and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes, otherwise pressing the dropper in will push some of the contents out.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed for normal filling and which is stated on the label of the finished product. Total volume to the rim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the dropper and for expansion of the contents. Both values are stated in the specifications.

facial and hair oils and oil serums – drop dispensing matches typical use of a few drops,
essential oil blends and aromatherapy blends – brown glass protects from light and glass does not react with concentrated essential oils,
tinctures and alcoholic extracts – alcohol does not damage glass or the polypropylene dropper,
oil extracts and macerates – sensitive to light and dispensed in small quantities,
light water-based serums with lower viscosity, applied drop by drop.

What is good to know

Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle, dropper and cap, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. Residual water in the neck or dropper would get into an anhydrous product and could compromise its microbiological stability.

The kit is suitable for repeated use. The glass bottle can be washed and refilled without limitation. With the dropper, we recommend checking after removal that it holds firmly in the neck when reinserted and dispenses evenly. In commercial production, the dropper is usually replaced with a new one.

Glass cannot withstand sudden temperature changes. Allow a hot oil phase or freshly dissolved macerate to cool before filling. A cold bottle filled with hot contents may crack.

The food contact attestation applies to the glass bottle alone. The dropper and cap are declared for cosmetic use, so the kit as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not for food filling.

The declaration of conformity is available with the product. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made container + closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation. After use, the bottle is sorted as glass and the dropper and cap as plastic; simply separate them before recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Does the brown 50 ml bottle protect the contents from light?

Yes, brown glass transmits significantly less light than clear glass, and therefore slows light-induced oxidation of oils, essential oils and sensitive active ingredients. It is not a complete barrier, so the bottle should be stored away from direct sunlight. For oils and serums, however, brown glass is one of the most practical forms of protection.

How many ml actually fit in the bottle with dropper?

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 50 ml. The physical volume to the rim of the neck is slightly larger, but that difference is the reserve for the dropper and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is filled right to the neck, pressing in the dropper will push some of the contents out and the cap may not seal properly.

Can the dropper kit be reused?

Yes, the glass bottle and cap can be washed, disinfected and refilled. The dropper can be removed from the neck, but after reinserting we recommend checking that it holds firmly and dispenses evenly. When filling products for sale, a new dropper is used for hygiene reasons.

Is the kit suitable for water-based, alcohol-based and oil-based contents?

Yes, glass is resistant to water, alcohol and oils, and the polypropylene dropper handles common cosmetic contents including tinctures and oils. Viscosity is the key factor: the dropper reliably dispenses liquid and moderately thick products, but thick serums and gels will not pass through it. For concentrated essential oil blends, we recommend checking the dropper's behaviour after a few weeks.

Is the glass bottle with dropper suitable for food?

No, the kit as a whole is intended for cosmetics. The food contact attestation applies to the glass bottle alone; the dropper and cap are declared for cosmetic use only. For food filling, the bottle needs to be combined with a closure that has its own food contact attestation.
