The glass vial made of durable glass is a universal packaging suitable for filling various liquid and fluid formulations where composition stability and content protection are important. In combination with a high-quality closure, it creates a reliable medicine bottle or cosmetic bottle for home and professional use. The dark glass helps limit light exposure to sensitive components, which contributes to longer stability of fragrances, oils and active substances.
Glass vials are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Before first use, we recommend mechanically cleaning the vial (rinsing with water and a suitable cleaning agent), rinsing thoroughly and allowing it to dry completely. It is then necessary to disinfect the inner surface and the corresponding closure with a suitable disinfectant alcohol, for example IPA 99 % – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, and only after the alcohol has completely evaporated should the vial be filled with the selected product.
Yes, the glass packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. For each new filling, the vial and the closure must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Allow the disinfectant to evaporate completely so that no residues remain in the packaging that could affect the consistency or fragrance of the new product.
If you decide not to use the vial any further, we recommend handing it over empty and free from coarse impurities to separate collection according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. Glass packaging is usually placed in the container intended for glass, while plastic or aluminium closures should be sorted separately according to their material. By following local separate waste collection rules, you support efficient recycling and reduce the amount of waste.
Dark glass is particularly suitable for products containing sensitive components, such as essential oils, vegetable oils, aromatherapeutic blends or products with a higher proportion of active substances. Such formulations may be prone to degradation when exposed to light, therefore closing them in a glass vial with reduced light transmission helps maintain the stability of fragrance, colour and functional properties for a longer period of time. However, we always recommend performing your own stability test for the specific formula.
