Product description
A complete set for spray dispensing of liquid preparations: a brown glass bottle with a flat top and a nominal volume of 100 ml, combined with a white trigger sprayer with a 24/410 thread. Brown glass reduces light exposure and is therefore suitable for contents sensitive to light – hydrosols, tonics, herbal extracts and blends with essential oils. The trigger sprayer is designed for preparations applied to a larger surface area or into the air, not for a fine facial mist.
The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the set with the sprayer is intended for cosmetic and technical use, not for food.
What the set is suitable for
- Hair and body sprays – liquid leave-on preparations on a water or hydrosol base that need to be evenly distributed over a larger area.
- Refreshing and aromatic room sprays – water-alcohol blends with essential oils or fragrance compositions; brown glass slows down their light-induced changes.
- Fabric and linen sprays – light fragrance or refreshing solutions where coverage of a larger area is valued.
- Household cleaning and disinfecting preparations – alcohol solutions, vinegar-based cleaners or surface preparations in a compact, practical volume.
- Care sprays for pets – provided the formulation is liquid and does not leave residues that would clog the nozzle.
How the set works
The trigger sprayer is operated by pressing the lever with a finger and draws the contents through a dip tube extending to the bottom of the bottle. One dose equals approximately 0.2 ml. The sprayer disperses the contents into a cone of fine droplets, not a continuous stream.
Works correctly only with clear, low-viscosity solutions. Emulsions, gels, oils and solutions containing undissolved particles (plant powder, undissolved salt, extract sediment) clog the mechanism or cause a stream instead of a mist. Oil-based ingredients should therefore be solubilised beforehand or kept to a small amount in an alcohol base.
Nominal and total volume
The bottle has a nominal volume of 100 ml, which is the quantity it is designed for during standard filling. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger and represents the physical space up to the neck. The difference serves as a reserve for the dip tube and sprayer mechanism and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim – an overfilled bottle will leak around the thread when the sprayer is screwed on.
Good to know
The sprayer's dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a sharp knife or scissors at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. A tube that is too long will bend inside the bottle and drawing will fail; one that is too short will leave an unused residue at the bottom.
Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. Before use, prime the sprayer by pressing the lever several times with clean water in the bottle and allow it to dry as well.
Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes – do not fill it with hot contents and do not place the bottle straight from cold into warm water. The sprayer is made of polypropylene, which is generally resistant to water, alcohol and most cosmetic ingredients. For preparations with a high proportion of essential oils or aggressive solvents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the mechanism with the specific formulation.
On a water or hydrosol base without preservation, the contents will last only a short time. While the sprayer limits direct hand contact with the contents, the air drawn in introduces micro-organisms into the bottle. Preparations intended for prolonged use should therefore be preserved or prepared in smaller quantities.
After screwing on, tighten the sprayer by hand until slight resistance is felt. If contents leak around the collar after pressing, this is usually due to overfilling or misalignment, not a damaged thread – unscrew the sprayer and reattach it.
The smooth surface of the bottle allows a label to be applied without creasing. For recycling, glass goes with glass and the sprayer goes with plastics – separate them before disposal.
